Hello everyone,

This morning I heard a sond that signals the beggining of summer. Can you guess what it is? I heard the chirping of a cicada in our garden. It was the first cicada I heard this year. They appear when the rainy season is coming to an end and the hottest time of the year begins. They look like giant flies and are very loud. Thankfully, they don’t like coming into houses, so we usually see them on trees outside. It’s going to be incredibly hot and humid from now until September, so I’ll try to stay inside under an air conditioner from now on. Now that summer is truly here, we can look froward to Japanese summer traditions. One of these is festivals, and Fuji festival will take place in July. Another is fireworks, both professional and at home. All over Japan, large fireworks displays take place after local festivals. They are often very spectacular and I wonder how much money was spent to light up the sky for a few minutes. Every year, the fireworks become more elaborate and fancy. I saw doraemon’s head in the sky a few years ago. Home fireworks are a popular summer activity, too. These are small sticks we call “sparklers” back home. Peole light them in their gardens in the evening. What do you associate with summer? Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season!

今朝、夏の始まりを告げる音が聞こえました。それは何であるか推測できますか?

我が家の庭で蝉の鳴き声が聞こえました。今年初めて聞いたセミでした。

梅雨が明けて一年で最も暑い時期が始まると蝉の鳴き声がします。 彼らは巨大なハエのように見え、非常に騒々しいです。

ありがたいことに、彼らは家に入るのが好きではなく、外の木の上の方で見かけます。

これから 9 月にかけて、信じられないほど蒸し暑くなりそうなので、これからはエアコンの効いた室内で過ごすようにします。 本格的な夏が到来し、日本の夏の風物詩が楽しみになります。

その 1 つは祭りで、7 月には富士祭りが開催されます。もう1つは、プロと家庭の両方で行われる花火です。

日本各地で、地元の祭りの後に大規模な花火大会が開催されます。

花火は非常に壮観であり、数分間空を照らすのにどれだけのお金が費やされたのだろうかと思います。

花火は年々、趣向を凝らして豪華になっていきます。 数年前、私は空にドラえもんの頭があるのを見ました。

家庭用花火も夏の人気アクティビティです。 これらは、我が家では「線香花火」と呼んでいる小さな棒です。

人々は夕方に庭でそれらに火を灯します。
