Did you eat any chocolate yesterday? It was Easter Sunday, so I made sure to eat some chocolate. Actually, I eat a little every weekend, so it was no different than usual!  However, after Valentine’s Day, White Day, and Easter in the space of two months, I think I’ve had enough for a while. Last weekend, I noticed the colour of the cherry blossoms fading away. The petals are falling now after their short display on the trees all over the country. The cherry blossom season comes to an end, which means that the weather will really heat up soon.

I was quite cool yesterday, which led me to the question, when is the best time to do “koromogae”? This is the twice-yearly custom of putting away your winter clothes and switching them with summer clothes, and vice-versa in autumn. I had never heard of this before I came to Japan. This is because Ireland has two seasons, cool and cold. So, we never need to change our wardrobe. In Japan, however, the temperature changes more severely between the seasons. It will be warm or hot for about six months, so we can put away the warm sweaters and coats until the end of autumn. It was hot on Saturday, so I thought it was time to swich. But it cooled down on Sunday, so that was a false start. I’ll try to time it right someday. Keep an eye on the weather forecast.

みなさん、こんにちは

先週の日曜日は待ちに待ったイースターでしたが、

チョコレートは食べましたか？？

 

私はもちろん食べましたよ🍫🍫

 

まぁ毎週少いつも食べているので、普段となんら変わらない日でしたけどね

 

バレンタインにホワイトデーにイースターと来たものですので、もうしばらく🍫は遠慮しときますｗｗ

 

先週末、桜が散っているのに気が付きました！！

桜のシーズンが終わりになりましたね

 

ということはもうじき気温もどんどん上昇してくることでしょう

 

先日はとても涼しかったのですが、ふとこんな質問が頭をよぎりました

 

「いつ衣替えをするべきか」

 

冬用の服と夏用の服を入れ替える習慣がこの国にはありますよね。

日本に来る前にはこんな習慣はありませんでしたので、驚きました

 

というのもアイルランドには季節が二つしかありません。。寒いか熱いかです。

というわけで、私たちには衣を変える必要なんてないんですね

ところが日本では、季節の移り変わりに伴って、とても激しく気温が変化しますね

 

半年くらいは暖かい、もしくは熱い気候が続くので冬用の暖かいセーターやコートなんかは秋までは押入れの中に入れます。

 

そして、土曜日は暑かったですよね

日本で学んだ「季節の移り変わり」を肌で感じた一日でした。

 

日曜日にはまた涼しくなったので、私の勘違いでしたけどねｗｗ

また季節の移り替わる瞬間を感じたら、今度こそしっかりとお伝えさせて頂きます！！！！
