School’s Out

カテゴリー:ブログ

Hello everyone,

Spring has sprung! It’s March now, and we can all enjoy the warmer weather and look forward to spring. The cherry blossoms are blooming early this year. Usually there is a local sakura festival in the park near my home, but this year it’s been cancelled because of the corona virus. Many events have been cancelled to stop the spread of the virus. Even the schools have closed. With all elementary, junior high and high schools closed, children will have to stay home and study. It’s an early start to their spring vacation. Many students told me they were given a lot of homework to do over the break because schools aren’t sure when they can start again. At some workplaces, employees can bring their children to work because there aren’t any child minding services available. Kindergartens are still open, however, so my daughter is going as usual. They are taking precautions now, with everyone wearing masks and cleaning their hands regularly. We are doing the same here at Hario, just to be safe. The virus is posing a threat to the Olympics. If it doesn’t stop spreading in Japan, they might have postpone the event! The government is asking people to avoid crowded areas to stay safe and stop spreading the virus. With schools closed, I wonder will students stay in, or go out to crowded places. Most of our students say they are being kept busy studying at cram school or doing homework. Ireland had its first case of corona last weekend, so it’s spreading in Europe too. Stay safe, wherever you are.

Alan
