Hello everyone,

How are you doing? Welcome back after Golden Week. Because of a lack of space due to increased student numbers, Hario has got some new rooms on the 3rd floor of our school. Recently, it had been difficult to fit some students into classrooms so I hope everyone enjoys the new space. Hario English Camp is this weekend and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll write more about it next week. See some of you there!

みなさん、こんにちは。

　いかがお過ごしですか。ゴールデンウイークから日常に戻ってきましたね。生徒数の増加で手狭になったので、ハリオは校舎の３階に新しく教室を増やしました。近頃は人数の多いレッスンではこれまでの教室では快適に過ごすには難しかったので、新しいスペースで楽しくレッスンしてもらえたらいいなと思います。HARIO　イングリッシュ　キャンプはこの週末です。私は本当に楽しみにしています。来週、詳しく書きますね。参加者のみなさん、キャンプ地で会いましょう。

In Golden Week, I went back to my hometown, Malvern, in England to visit my family and friends there. It was over 4 years since I’ve been to England so it was lovely to be back. I met my newest nephew and spent lots of time with him. I also caught up with family and friends (and their pets). I spent the first day in London with my aunt and went shopping down the famous Portobello Road Market, which is full of antiques and interesting items. I took the train to Malvern via Paddington Station and met Paddington Bear there. I saw another aunt and uncle the next day. The following day, my father, brother and I went to a food festival at a local castle. It was delicious. I ate poutine, which is Canadian fast food. I had never had it before and it was delicious. The day after that, we went to a bird centre and saw many owls, eagles and other large birds. It was really great and you could see that the staff there really looked after the animals well. I visited my sister’s new house the next, and met an old friend in the evening. I had to go to Wales to get my passport updated the day after that, and I saw the Transporter Bridge, an interesting local attraction, while I was there. In the evening, I saw my favourite comedian do stand-up comedy. The next day I took the train to the airport and went back to Japan. I had a great week back home but it went really quickly. Time with your family is precious, especially if you live far apart. How was your Golden Week? I hope you had some free time and did something fun.

　ゴールデンウイーク中、私はイングランドにある故郷のMalvernを家族と一緒に訪れ、家族や友人たちと会いました。４年以上、イングランドに帰っていなかったので、とても懐かしかったです。新しく生まれた甥と対面し、長く一緒に過ごせました。両親や友人やそのペットたちとお互いに近況を伝え合いました。第一日目はロンドンでおばと有名なPortobello Road Marketに買い物に出かけました。そこはアンティークやいろいろな面白い物がたくさんあります。私はPaddington経由Malvern行きの列車に乗り、パディントン・ベアに会いました。翌日は別のおば・おじに会いました。その翌日は、父、兄弟と地元の城で開かれたフード・フェスティバルに行きました。おいしかったです。私はプーティンを食べましたが、プーティンとはカナダのファーストフードです。初めて食べたのですが、美味しかったです。その次の日はバード・センターに行き、たくさんのふくろうやワシやほかの大きな鳥を見ました。そこはとても大きくて、職員がとてもよく動物たちのケアをしているのを見ることができます。次に、姉妹の新居を訪問し、それから夕方には古くからの友人たちと会いました。私はその次の日にパスポートの更新のためにWalesに行かなければなりませんでした。、そこで、この地域の名所、the Transporter Bridgeを見ました。その夕方、お気に入りのコメディアンのスタンド・アップ・コメディを見ました。その次の日には列車で空港へ移動し、日本に戻りました。今回の帰省でとても有意義な一週間でしたが、あっと言う間に終わってしまいました。家族と過ごす時間はとても大切です。特に遠く離れて暮らしているときには。みなさんのゴールデンウイークはいかがでしたか。自由な時間や楽しいひとときを過ごせていたら私もうれしいです。
