Did you check out the Fuji Festival yesterday? It’s nice to have the festivals back again after the pandemic. In the afternoon we headed to Chuo park to have a look. It took a while to find parking because most of the popular parking lots were full. We eventually found parking about a 10 minute walk from the park. Once we got there, it was packed with people. There were all of the usual festival food stalls, so we got some fried chicken, shaved ice and chips. I say chips, but American people say french fries. It’s confusing to explain the difference in the names of fries and chips. In U.K. English (which Ireland also uses), fried potato are called “chips”. However, in U.S. English, “chips” are potato chips. They call fried potato “french fries”. This name is also confusing because they aren’t even from France. French fries began in Belgium in the 17th century. Also in U.K. English, potato chips are called “crisps” because chips are something else. Is all that clear? Anyway, the festival food was delicious, and we saw some dance groups on stage in Chuo Park. It was really hot as usual for this time of year, so we didn’t stay until the fireworks. However, when the sun set and the fireworks began, we took a little walk down the street from our house where we got a good view of them from a distance. Fireworks seem to get more elaborate every year. I saw hearts, faces, and all sorts of interesting explosions in the sky. I wonder how much all of that cost? Enjoy the rest of the summer!

昨日の富士まつりは見ましたか？

コロナが落ち着き、再びお祭りが戻ってくるのは嬉しいことです。

昨日の午後に中央公園へ行って見てきました。

人気の駐車場はどこも満車で駐車場を探すのに時間がかかりました

結局、公園から10分ほど歩いたところに駐車場を見つけました。

私たちがそこに着くと、人でいっぱいでした。いつものお祭りの屋台がすべて出ていたので、フライドチキン、かき氷、チップスを買いました。 私はチップスと言いますが、アメリカ人はフライドポテトと言います。

フライドポテトとチップスの名前の違いを説明するのはわかりにくいです。

イギリス英語（アイルランドでも使用されています）では、フライドポテトのことを「チップス」と呼びます。

ただし、アメリカ英語では、「チップス」はポテトチップスのことです。 彼らはフライドポテトを「フライドポテト」と呼びます。 フランス出身でもないので、この名前も紛らわしいです。

フライドポテトは17世紀にベルギーで始まりました。

また、イギリス英語ではポテトチップスは「クリスプ」と呼ばれますが、これはチップスが別のものであるためです。

それはとにかくお祭りの食べ物は美味しかったですし、中央公園のステージではダンスグループも見られました。

でも花火までいるには暑すぎいることができませんでしたが・・・日が沈み、花火が始まったとき、家から通りを少し散歩し、遠くから花火をよく見ることができました。 花火は年々趣向が凝らされているように感じます。

空にはハートや顔様々は種類がありました。

あれは全部でいくらかかるのかな？
