Hello everyone,

Last weekend it felt like the infamous Japaneses summer humidity had arrived. It was muggy all weekend after the rain last Friday. I think from now until September the weather is going to be hot and humid every day!

Last weekend, the G7 summit took place in Hiroshima. Leaders from around the world also invited Zelenskyy to discuss the war in Ukraine. Many G7 world leaders pledged further help to Ukraine in the future. I think it is important for world leaders to communicate often and help each other in troubled times.

Here at Hario this week, we are busy translating our students’ speeches. The deadline to hand them in has passed, but there are still more speeches to come. It takes a lot of work to translate 120 speeches into English. Recently, everyone is talking about the increasing power of Artificial Intelligence to do everything. I wonder if it’s good enough to translate speeches into English? If AI grows in power, will it take over the role of people in workplaces. It’s a little scary to think of, but what if in the distant future, all work was done by AI. What role will people take then? Do you think AI has a positive future ahead? I’m very curious to see what will happen.

みなさん、こんにちは

 

先週から日本独特のあの蒸し暑さがやってきましたね💦

 

先週の金曜日に雨が降ってからはずっとこの蒸し暑さが続いています

9月まではこの蒸し暑さと天気との戦いが続きそうですね

 

つい先日のことですが、G7サミットが広島で開かれました。

世界中の大統領がウクライナのゼレンスキー大統領招いて、ロシアとの戦争について話し合いました。

 

多くのG7メンバー達が将来的にウクライナの助けになることを約束しました

困難が訪れた時に、各国のリーダー達がもっと頻繁に集まってそれぞれの意見交換をすることはとても大事なことだと思います。

 

一方今週のHARIOでは、生徒達のスピーチの翻訳作業で忙しく過ごしています

提出期日は過ぎていますが、まだ集まってきています。

 

120個のスピーチを翻訳する作業は時間がかかりますので、AIがもっと進化して、

身の回りのこと全てを手伝ってくれたらいいのに、と話をしていたところでした

 

でもAIに全てを任せてしまったら、人々の仕事がなくなってしまうのではないかと心配しています

考え出すと少し怖いですが、そう遠くない未来にそれは実現するんじゃないかなと思います

 

それじゃあ、人々にはどんな仕事が残っていますかね？？

AIと共存していく未来には、一体どんないいことが待っているのでしょうか。とても楽しみです
