Hello everyone! I hope you have been enjoying your Spring vacation so far! It’s still a bit chilly out but the true spring will be here soon.

 

I was surprised to hear how many of our students still had things like school clubs during Spring Vacation. Spring Vacation (or March Break in Canada) was usually an actual break! We rarely ever had Spring homework, usually you would have a larger end of the year project you could start during this time or a Spring journal to do. Most of our teachers knew that we as students needed a full break just to be kids!

 

It’s important for children to have time away from studying so that they can discover more about themselves. Learning or starting new hobbies, spending time socializing with friends, exploring their minds and neighbourhood and getting some much needed rest! When I was younger I would go to a sports or swimming camp or just go on a family vacation together. Like one year we took a trip to Disneyworld in Florida! That would not have been possible if I had to go to my school club every day!

みなさん、こんにちは！春休みを楽しんでいますか！まだ少し肌寒いですが、春はすぐそこです。

春休みにも、学校の部活で忙しい生徒がたくさんいるのを聞いて驚きました。

カナダでは春休みこそが、本当のお休みでした。

春の宿題はめったにでることがありません。先生達も子供には何もしない休憩が必要だと分かっていました。

子供たちが自分自身についてもっと知ることができるように、勉強から離れて時間を過ごすことが重要です。新しい趣味を見つけ、始めたり、友達との付き合いに時間を費やしたり、近所を探索したり。私が子供の頃はスポーツや水泳のキャンプに行ったり、家族で一緒に休暇を過ごしたりしていました。ある年はフロリダのディズニーワールドに旅行しました！

私が生徒達のように毎日部活に行かなければならなかったら、それは不可能だったでしょう！

皆さんやお休み中の部活活動や登校日などをどう思いますか。
