The World Cup　ワールドカップ

Hello everyone,

How’s it going with you? The Eiken test is this weekend and many of our students are entering it. Good luck to everyone. I’ve seen students really studying hard for it and coming in for extra classes the past few weeks.

The World Cup starts in Brazil next week. Even if you’re not a big football fan, you can still follow Japan (and England) for the next few weeks as the tournament progresses. The time difference means most of the matches will be on early in the morning in Japan which suits my working hours. I should be able to watch many matches. We are doing a fantasy World Cup pool at Hario for students, staff and friends of Hario English School. It’s a prediction game. You choose who you think will be group winners and runner’s up and then which teams will win in the second round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. The person who predicts best and gets most points will win a small prize (and pride!). If you’d like to take part, please take a sheet in the waiting room and ask the staff for guidance. I chose Argentina as the winner but I think I’m going to be patriotic and change my mind and pick England.

いかがお過ごしですか？今週末の英検はたくさんの生徒が受験予定です。ここ2、3週間、生徒達が対策授業に来て、本当に一生懸命勉強するのを見てきました。みんな、がんばって

ブラジルワールドカップが来週から始まりますね。もしサッカーファンでなくても、この先数週間は日本（それからイングランド）のトーナメント進出がどうなるか、気になるでしょう。時差のため、ほとんどの試合が日本時間の朝早くに行われます。私たちの勤務時間には重ならず、好都合です。たくさんの試合を見ることができるにちがいありません。

HARIOではワールドカップの予測ゲームをおこなっています。これは各グループの勝者を予想するものです。そして、どのチームが決勝トーナメント、準々決勝、準決勝そして決勝戦に勝つかを予想します。一番予想が当たって、たくさんのポイントを取ることが出来た人が優勝で、ちょっとしたごほうびがもらえます。（それから自慢もできます。）もし参加したければ、ロビーにある紙をもってやり方をスタッフにきいてくださいね私は最初アルゼンチンを選びましたが、愛国心からイングランドに変えました。
