I hope you’re enjoying the warm spring weather. Have you changed out your wardrobe from winter to summer clothes yet? This practice is called “koromogae” in Japan. We put all of out warm winter clothes into bags and store them away until it gets cold again at the end of Autumn. We also change to thinner blankets on the bed and we take the blanket out of the kotatsu table in the living room. Temperatures vary greatly in Fuji, from as low as 5 degrees in winter to 35 degrees in summer. We need to change a lot of things to deal with such a huge swing in heat. In Ireland there are only 2 seasons, cool and cold. It ranges from 3 or 4 degrees at the height of winter to 25 in summer. So we never have “koromogae” and we don’t have to change the blankets. Also we don’t have to prepare air-conditioners for the summer, because there aren’t any. For me, Japan has at least 6 seasons, winter, spring, summer, the rainy season, August and Autumn. I count August as a seperate season because it’s always super-hot.

Remember to eat as much chocolate as possible this weekend because this Sunday is Easter. Don’t worry if you can’t find any chocolate eggs, they are difficult to get in Japan. Just eating chocolate is good enough. People used to eat regular eggs during Easter, but they are too normal, so the confectionary companies had a great idea. Kids can also have fun painting eggs, which is another fun activity for this holiday. Like Christmas, Easter started out as a Christian holiday, but the fun of chocolate eggs and the Easter bunny spread around the world. Enjoy the chocolate!

春の気候をみなさん楽しんでいますか。

もう冬服から夏服に衣替えしましたか。

この習慣は日本で「衣替え」と呼ばれています。

暖かい冬の服はすべてバッグに入れて、秋の終わりに再び寒くなるまで保管します。

また、ベッド毛布の毛布は薄いブランケットに替えて、リビングルームのこたつテーブルから毛布を取り出します。

富士の気温は、冬の最低気温5度から夏の35度まで大きく異なります。

このような大きな気温の変動に対処するには、多くのことを変える必要があります。

アイルランドでは、涼しい季節と寒い季節の2つしかありません。冬の真っ只中の3度または4度から夏の25度までの範囲です。

なので「衣替え」はなく、毛布も交換する必要はありません。また、夏用のエアコンがないので、準備する必要はありません。

私にとっては、日本には少なくとも冬、春、夏、雨季、8月と秋という6つの季節があるように思います。

8月はとても暑いので、別の季節として私は数えたいです。

 

今週の日曜日はイースターです。できるだけ多くのチョコレートを食べることを忘れないでください。

チョコレートの卵が見つからなくても心配しないでください。日本では入手が困難です。

チョコレートを食べるだけで十分です。

昔は、イースターの時期は普通の卵を食べていましたが、普通すぎるので、製菓会社はいいアイデアを思いつきました。

子供たちはまた、卵を描くことを楽しむことができます。

クリスマスのように、イースターはキリスト教の祝日として始まりましたが、チョコレートの卵とイースターのウサギの楽しさは世界中に広がりました。みなさん、チョコレートを楽しんでください。
