Have you Written your Speech Yet?

Hello everyone,

The deadline is fast approaching for our students to hand in their speeches. By this Thursday the 19th, we should have received all of them. I’ve been taking a look at what has been handed in so far. My Japanese reading skills aren’t great, but I can make sense of the speeches that are written in hiragana, katakana and some simple kanji. Some of them are looking very interesting so far. I wonder who can make me laugh out loud. We can begin translating them soon. After that we’ll start our process of recording and creating the speech homework. November seems like a long time away, but the time can fly by, and before you know it, we’re getting ready for Rose theater. This is step one for our students, but it can lead to great things in the future. So get on with writing your speech kids! Make us proud.

This week we also welcome our newest teachers to Hario. We have not one, but three new staff members who have joined us in the last month. Welcome Mikiko, Yuma and Alan to the Hario team. If Alan sounds familiar, you’re right. We share the same first name! Students were very surprised to hear that. We are also from the same part of the world in northwest Europe. Alan is from England and he has lived in Japan before, so he is already settling in to Fuji. The kids will have no problem remembering his name! Welcome to our newest team members.

みなさん、こんにちは。

スピーチの作文の提出期限が迫ってきました。期限は明日です。

すでにいくつか作文をみました。私は日本語の読みが苦手ですが、簡単な漢字が入った文章なら理解ができます。

いくつか面白い作文がありました。だれか大笑いさせてくれるスピーチがあるかなー

もうすぐ翻訳作業に入ります。その後は録音をしてスピーチホームワークを仕上げていきます。

１１月はまだまだ先のように思いますが、時が過ぎるのは速いものです。

今年もスピーチコンテストは１１月２３日、ロゼシアターにてです。

生徒達にとっての初めの一歩は、彼らの輝かしい未来につながることでしょう。

今週はHARIOに新しいスタッフが仲間入りしました。１人ではありません、３人ですとはいっても一人は先月から仲間入りしています。みきこ、ゆうま、そしてアランです。アランという名前に聞き覚えがあるでしょうはい、私と同じ名前です。アランの名前を聞くと、生徒達皆がおどろきます。また我々二人はどちらも北西のヨーロッパ出身です。アラン（モリス）は、イングランドの出身で、以前に日本にすんでいました。今はすでに富士市に住んでいます。生徒の皆さん、彼の名前を覚える手間がはぶけましたね。あたらしいスタッフの皆さん、HARIOへようこそ
