An Amazing Day at Rosé

Hario Speech contest 2020 took place on Tuesday and what a special day it was! Well done to all of our students for putting on such wonderful performances! Things were different this year because of the pandemic. The seating in Rose Theater was spaced so that people socially distanced. Everyone sat two seats apart from each other. All of our students and their families arrived at midday, and they were nervous in anticipation of performing in front of a large audience. We kicked off with a special speech from our youngest ever performer, and then went into the debut speeches. Our first timers were nervous, but put on a great show. It was difficult to pick a winner, and they all have great potential for future speech contests. Our next category was the rising stars, who had done their second speech. These students were familiar with the venue as many of them came to the contest last year. They really impressed us with their confidence and smiles on stage. After that, we had the 10th rank activity, which was a song and dance performance from our younger students. They sang “Bug n’roll” and the well-known hit “Paprika” in English. They had practiced long and hard at Hario and at home to learn the lyrics and dance moves. I was amazed by how well they performed on stage. Often, young students can become shy when many people are watching. But our students were brave and sang loudly for all to hear. They also performed the dances really well. Great job to all of our singers and dancers! Next we had the star category of speeches. Again they put on a great show. You could really tell how motivated these students were to practice so hard at home. Our final speeches were the legend category. For most of these students, it’s their final speech contest, and their last chance at a prize they have wanted for years. That motivates these students to work harder than ever before, to put on one final amazing performance and impress everyone. And impress us they did! It was a very close call for the judges, but they finally came to a decision for the winner. Each categories winner won a trophy and a ticket to Disneyland. I’d like to thank all of the students and their parents for their continued support all through the speech process. Thanks also to our helpers on the day, our M.C.s and judges. It was a wonderful day and I’m already looking forward to next year!

みなさんこんにちは。アランです。火曜日はとても特別な日でした。それはHARIOのスピーチコンテスト２０２０が開催された日だからです。出場した生徒達は、非常に素晴らしいスピーチを披露していました。今年は例年とはことなり、コロナ禍での開催となりましたが、会場のロゼシアターが大きいため、ソーシャルディスタンスを保って会を行うことができました。出場者とそのご家族は、会場につくと非常に緊張しているようでした。コンテストの最初は、年中のりこちゃんによるスペシャルスピーチがありました。これまでの最年少スピーチでした。その後に、デビューの部のスピーチ。はじめてのスピーチで緊張しているようでしたが、よいスピーチでした。優勝者を決定するのが困難でした。だれもが今後が楽しみにな素質を持っていると思いました。次は、ライジングスターの部。この部は、２度目のスピーチコンテストの生徒達です。２度目だけあって、自信を持っていました。緊張があってもステージで笑顔でスピーチが披露できていました。10th&9thランクの発表では、Bug n’rollとパプリカの歌の発表をしました。コンテストまでHARIOでも家でもたくさん練習を重ねました。非常に感動的なパフォーマンスでした。毎年、小さい生徒達は、大きな舞台に立つと普段通りの歌やおどりが披露てきなかったのですが、今年は違いました。とても大きな声で歌えていましたし、ダンスも素晴らしかった！後半はスターの部とレジェンドの部のスピーチ。これも素晴らしかった。レジェンドの部の生徒達はほとんどが最後のスピーチでした。最後のスピーチにかける思いが伝わってきました。感動しました。それぞれのカテゴリーの優勝者にはトロフィーとディズニーランドのチケットが贈られました。出場したすべての生徒達、その保護者の皆さん、コンテストに至るまでの努力とサポートを本当にありがとうございました。コンテストを手伝ってくれた中学生のみんな、司会をやってくれた２人、審査員の皆さん、ありがとうございました。すばらしい一日になりました。そして来年のコンテストが楽しみです。
