Hello everyone,

Halloween week took place last week here at Hario. We had a fantastic week full of weird and wonderful costumes and Halloween fun! Big thanks to all of our students who wore costumes, I really appreciate all of the effort they put in. While Halloween week is over here at Hario, it is actually Halloween today. It’s October 31st, so kids all over the world will go out “trick or treating” this evening. I can’t believe it’s almost November already.

November is a big month for us. We have both the mini-speech contest and the speech contest coming soon! The mini-speech contest will take place throughout the month on selected days for each class. Every student who has learned a speech will stand up in front of an audience of parents and classmates and perform their speech. It’s a big moment for all of them because they have been practicing the speech for several months now. They are always nervous before the performance, but that is normal. Once they start reciting the speech, the nerves go away and they can start to relax. After they have finished, they feel a great sense of accomplishment. To stand up and speak in a foreign language about something you care about for over a minute is a wonderful achievement. The students and parents should be proud of what they have achieved. As well as the mini-speech contest, we also have the speech contest at Rose Theater on November 23rd. The lucky contestants will have to perform in front of about 200 people on the big day!

So that’s the line-up for November. We have so many speeches to be proud of, so let’s start the show!

みなさんこんにちはフィリップスです。

 

先週ハリオではHalloween weekが開催されていましたね。

奇妙な、そしてすばらしいコスチュームがいっぱいの素敵な１週間を過ごすことができました。

ほんとうにみなさんのおかげです。ありがとうございました。

 

Halloween weekは終わりましたが、昨日が本当のHalloweenでしたね。

世界中では子供たちが「トリックオアトリート！」をして楽しんだことでしょう。

 

もう11月なのがいまだに信じられませんね。

そして、11月は私たちにとってこの1年で一番大切な月です。

 

ミニスピーチコンテストとスピーチコンテストが開催されるからです

ミニスピーチコンテストは１カ月の間、決められた日に行われます。

練習をしてきたどの生徒たちも他の生徒や保護者さんたちの前に立ってスピーチをします。

 

そういうわけで数カ月にもわたって練習を重ねてきた子供たちにとって、11月は非常に大切な月になるんです。

 

例年、スピーチの直前になるとみんな緊張しています。

 

ですが、それはいたって普通のことです。

 

一度スピーチを話し始めると、緊張はほぐれてリラックスできるはじめます。

そしてスピーチが終わるととてつもない達成感を感じるんですね

 

大勢の人の前に立って外国語を使ってスピーチをする、すごいことですよね。

 

生徒も保護者の方々も誇りに思うことでしょう。

 

当日は、ミニスピーチと同様に中学生以上のスピーチコンテストもロゼシアターで開催します。

選ばれた生徒たちは総勢200名の観客の前で発表することになります。

11月のリストにはとてもたくさんの誇るべきスピーチがありますね！
