Last Wednesday we held the 2022 annual Hario Speech Contest at the Rose Theatre, it was my first speech contest since I joined Hario in May. So it was a new experience for me to see all that went into this event. I want to thank all the students that have worked so hard at learning their speeches over the last few months, all those at the competition did an excellent job!

 

Standing on a stage in front of so many people and reading out their speech from memory takes a lot of courage! Even when some students had the misfortune to make a mistake, they showed great determination and never gave up.

 

Hearing all the students’ thoughts, interests, and stories through the speeches that they shared with us. Hearing as they developed and improved their speeches in class and through coaching, then finally hearing how well they presented them on the day. To not only the winners but everyone who did a speech well done!

 

Also, I want to thank all the younger students who came on stage and danced with us, learning the moves and songs was a lot of fun!

先週の水曜日にロゼシアターで毎年恒例のハリオスピーチコンテストを開催しました！５月にハリオに入社した私にとって、初めてのスピーチコンテストでした。ですから、このイベントの為にどれだけ皆さんが努力を費やされたか…。この場を借りて参加してくださった生徒の皆さん、この数か月間一生懸命スピーチに励んでくれたことに感謝します

皆さん、とても素晴らしかったです！

 

多くの人の前に立ち、記憶しているスピーチを読み上げることは、とても勇気のいることです。たとえミスをした生徒がいたとしても、決してあきらめない強い意志を見せてくれました。

 

生徒の考え、興味、ストーリーをスピーチを通して聞くことができたこと、授業やコーチングを通してスピーチの質を高めたこと、最終的に本番でいかにうまく発表したかを聞くことができました。受賞者だけでなく、スピーチをしたすべての人たち、本当にお疲れ様でした

 

また、ステージに上がって一緒に踊ってくれた１０級の皆さん、ありがとうございました！動きや歌を覚えるのはとても楽しかったね！
