his week in the UK, Friday marks the celebration of Red Nose Day! This annual fundraising event is broadcasted on British TV and organized by the Comic Relief charity in collaboration with the BBC. Originating in 1986, Red Nose Day initially aimed to raise funds for famine-stricken Ethiopia.

この週の金曜日のイギリスでは、レッドノーズデーのお祝いが行われます！この年に一度の募金イベントは、英国のテレビで放送され、コミックリリーフ慈善団体とBBCの共同で組織されています。1986年に始まったレッドノーズデーは、当初エチオピアの飢餓に苦しむ人々のための資金を集めることを目的としていました。

Leading up to the event, red noses, reminiscent of clown noses, are sold in stores, and the proceeds from these sales contribute to the charity’s cause. The primary goal of Red Nose Day is to generate funds through comedy and entertainment. Numerous well-known British comedy acts and TV shows participate, encouraging the public to donate to the cause. Last year’s event successfully raised £34 million (equivalent to about 6,409,340,000 yen), with the highest amount ever raised being over £108 million in 2011.

イベントに先立ち、道化師の鼻を思わせる赤い鼻が店頭で販売され、その売上は慈善団体の原因に寄与します。レッドノーズデーの主な目的は、コメディとエンターテインメントを通じて資金を生み出すことです。多くの有名なイギリスのコメディアクトやテレビ番組が参加し、公衆に寄付を促しています。昨年のイベントは成功裏に£34 million（約6,409,340,000円）を集め、2011年には過去最高額の£108 million以上を集めました

In addition to the event, there is an annual charity song featuring various acts, including popular groups like The Spice Girls and One Direction, who have participated in the cause over the years.
