石はおもしろい!

　　（奇石博物館、富士宮）

Hello everyone,

As Hario Camp 2017 draws closer, we are busy preparing for the big weekend in May. We have lots of fun activities in store for our campers. We will have about the same number of students as last year. Some of them are first timers, and some will be veterans who will be on their 4th Hario Camp. It’s great to have experienced campers who can be leaders and guide the newcomers. They can be more independent and are already familiar with the rules of camping. It’s less than a month away now, how time flies. I’m looking forward to all the fun we have in store.

2017年のハリオのキャンプが近づいてきて、この５月のビッグイベントの準備で忙しく過ごしています。楽しいアクティビティをたくさん準備しています。参加人数は去年と同じくらいになりました。初めて参加の人もいれば、4回めの参加となるベテランもいます。キャンプの経験者の参加は、リーダーになってもらったり、初参加の人に教えてもらえたりできるので、とても心強いです。経験者は自主的に行動でき、キャンプの決まりごともわかっています。もう一ヶ月を切ってるんですね。早いものです。とても楽しみです。

Last weekend I visited Kiseki Museum of World Stones in Fujinomiya. It’s a fun museum with dinosaur fossils and many rare and interesting stones. They have a small waterway full of stones, and you can sift through them with a scoop and keep any nice ones you find. We even found a special prize stone in the water. They gave us a prize of a quartz stone for finding it. As you can see from the picture, my daughter and I had great fun looking for rare stones. She is very interested in dinosaurs right now, and enjoyed looking at the fossils. I recommend checking it out. It’s a small, but interesting museum.

Big thanks to everyone for making last Friday a special day! I turned 36, and my colleagues gave me wonderful presents and an awesome cake featuring Hario! I had a great time celebrating my birthday with my Hario workmates.

先週末、私は富士宮にある奇石博物館に行ってきました。恐竜の化石や珍しい石、興味深い石がたくさんあって面白い博物館です。石がたくさんある小さな水路があって、石をすくってふるいにかけて、自分がみつけたいい石は持ち帰ることもできます。私達は水の中に特別な価値がある石を見つけることができました。水晶を見つけたので博物館が賞をくれました。写真でもお分かりのように、珍しい石を見つけられて、娘ととても楽しい時を過ごせました。娘は目下、恐竜にすごく興味を持っていて、化石を熱心に見ていました。奇石博物館、オススメです。小さいながらも面白い博物館です。
