Hello everyone,

How are you doing? It’s a rare day of sunshine today so this morning I went to see the cherry blossoms in bloom at Central Park. They were really beautiful and I hope the weather stays nice for the weekend. My in-laws are coming down and it would be nice to have a hanami picnic. There’s a nursery rhyme I remember from my childhood. It goes like this:

“Rain, rain, go away.

Come again another day….”

みなさん、こんにちは、

　　いかがお過ごしですか。今日は珍しく、お天気になったので、今朝は中央公園にお花見に行きました。桜がとてもきれいでした。週末までいいお天気が続いてくれたらと思います。妻の実家の家族が来る予定なのです。桜の下でピクニックができたらいいなと思います。子供のころに覚えた歌でこんなものがあります。♪雨、雨、行ってしまえ。降るなら別の日に♪

Yesterday was Sachiyo’s birthday. Many happy returns. You can look at our Facebook page for photos. Alan’s birthday is later in the week and our newest staff member, Naomi, has her birthday early next week. Happy birthday in advance to Alan and Naomi too.

昨日はSachiyoの誕生日でした。この一年もよい事がたくさんありますよう。フェイスブックページにその写真を貼っていますので、のぞいてみてください。アランは今週の後半、新しいスタッフ、ナオミは来週の前半に誕生日です。ちょっと早いけど、アラン、ナオミもお誕生日おめでとう。

This Sunday is Easter Sunday. It’s a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Christ. Like Christmas, it has now also become a more general, spring-themed, non-religious holiday too. People eat chocolate eggs and go on egg hunts and spring-like images of rabbits are common. At Hario this week, we’ve made an English mini Easter egg hunt in our classrooms for our younger students. We’ve also got rabbit masks. It’s been really nice to see the students having fun and motivated to find all the eggs and using English in the process. Photos for will be available for parents to order as usual in the waiting room and on the member’s page of the website.

　次の日曜日はイースターの日曜日です。この日はキリストの復活を祝う、キリスト教の祝日です。クリスマスのように、イースターも春に行う宗教色の無い祝日としてだんだん知られるようになってきました。みんな、チョコレートエッグを食べ、イースターエッグ・ハントをします。春の象徴のウサギもお馴染みです。ハリオでは今週、PLSと幼児クラスでは教室で英国式ミニイースターエッグハントをしています。ウサギのマスクもかぶります。英語を使いながら、すべてのタマゴをみつけようと楽しんでいる様子を見てこちらも楽しくなります。写真はいつものように待合室やウェブサイトのメンバーページに掲示して、ご希望の方にはご注文いただけるようにします。
