楽しい4月

Hello everyone,

It’s April already! The cherry blossom trees should have started blooming by now, but they are late. I think it was unusually cold in the last week of March, so they are taking their time to blossom. I went to the Atsuhara Hanami Festival last Sunday. It was a fun event, with live music and dancing on the stage. There was a mix of modern dance and traditional music. My daughter enjoyed watching her great-grandmother play the koto on stage with her group. The only thing missing from the festival was the pink blossoms on the trees! They have started blooming a little today, however. I was there this morning and you can see from the photos that some of the branches have little flowers now. If the weather is nice next weekend it will be a beautiful sight.

There’s lots to look forward to this April. In the space of just one week we have four celebrations taking place! Three members of Hario’s staff have birthdays, on the 11th, 14th, and 18th. In addition Easter Sunday is on the 16th. That’s a lot of celebrations in such a short space of time. I always look forward to stuffing myself with chocolate eggs during Easter. It’s difficult to find them here in Japan, so my parents send me a box every year.

Finally, a big welcome to our newest staff member, Naomi, who has joined us this week. I’m looking forward to working with her. Good luck and welcome aboard!

みなさんこんにちは。

もう4月になりましたね。今頃でなら桜が咲いていてもいいようですが、遅れているようですね。3月の最終週は寒かったのでそれが影響しているのだと思います日曜日には厚原花見まつりに行ってきました。ステージでの歌や踊りなどがあり、とても楽しいイベントでした。また現代ダンスと伝統の音楽の融合も見る事ができました。私の娘は、曾おばあちゃんがステージで琴を演奏しているのを見て楽しそうにしていました。今回のこのお祭りに唯一足りなかったもの、それは桜だけでした今日見たところでは、少し花ひらいたようでしたけれど。今朝も厚原公園に行き、上の写真の様に枝に少しだけ咲く桜が見る事ができると思います。次の週末が温かくなれば、とても美しい景色を見る事が出来るでしょう

今年の4月は楽しみなことが沢山あります。1週間の間にHARIOの先生方3人がそれぞれ11日、14日、18日とお誕生日を迎えられますさらには16日はイースターもありますわずかの期間でのお祝い事がこんなにも沢山あります。イースターではチョコレートエッグを沢山食べるのが楽しみです。日本では探すのが大変なため、毎年アイルランドの家族が送ってくれます。
