Hello everyone,

Happy New Year! We’re back after the Winter Holiday. I hope you are well rested after the break. Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? Many people make resolutions in January, but I wonder how many of them last until December. It’s difficult to start a new routine, but if you persevere it’s possible.

What did you do during the Winer Vacation? That’s the question I’ve been asking all of our students this week. Most of them visited relatives and got “otoshidama”, or new year’s money. Some of our student’s travelled far and wide to see relatives, or go on a family trip. I took a family trip too, with my wife and daughter. We went to Gotemba to do some shopping and see the illumination. The lights were amazing! The next day we drove to Izu Animal Kingdom. There was heavy rain and strong winds during the journey, so it was a scary drive on the highway. Despite the rain we enjoyed the zoo, and it cleared up later on. They have a great dinosaur exhibit with life size dinosaur models. It feels like Jurassic Park in there. My daughter didn’t like their loud roars, however, so we didn’t stay long. We also visited Niji-no-sato in Shuzenji. It’s a leisure park with different themed villages, British, Canadian, and Japanese. The British village has old Georgian architecture, and steam train track. There’s lots to see and do there. There’s a red English bus where you can get ice-cream, a toy museum, a playground, a kaleidoscope museum, and many beautiful flowers in the gardens. It’s a fun day out!

I’m looking forward to another great year here at Hario. Our Spring campaign will begin next month. I can’t wait to welcome our new students. Have a wonderful year everyone!

みなさんこんにちは。

あけましておめでとうございます。お正月休みも終わりましたが、皆さんはゆっくりできましたか新年の抱負は決めましたか？皆、1月に新年の抱負を決めますが、はたしてどれくらいの人が12月まで続けられるのか気になります新しい事を始めるのはなかなか難しいですが、辛抱強く続ければできるはずです

さて冬休みの間は何をしましたか？この質問は今週生徒の皆さんにずっと聞いている質問です。多くの生徒さんは親戚まわりでお年玉をもらったと教えてくれました。中には遠くの親戚の所へ行った生徒さんや、家族で旅行にいった生徒さんもいました。私も休みの間、妻と娘で旅行に行ってきました今回は御殿場にショッピングとイルミネーションを見に行ってきました。イルミネーションはとても綺麗でした。その翌日は伊豆のアニマルキングダムという動物園に行ってきました。旅行の間は強い雨と風で高速道路を運転するのが怖かったです。雨でしたが動物園はとても楽しかったです。とても迫力のある実物大の恐竜の展示があり、まるでジュラシックパークにいるような感覚でしたしかしながら娘は恐竜の鳴き声が嫌いだったようで、あまり長い時間いる事はできませんでした。その後は修善寺にある虹の里へ行きました。イギリス、カナダ、そして日本とテーマに沿った村があるレジャー施設です。そこのイギリス村にはジョージア王朝時代の建築や蒸気機関車の線路などがありました。他にもイギリス名物の赤いバスでアイスを買えたり、おもちゃ博物館があったり、遊び場、万華鏡博物館、庭にはたくさんの美しい花があり、とても楽しめました
