What a great day out we had on Sunday! Some of our Hario English School teaching staff took part in the Mamacherry bike race at Gotemba speedway. There were 98 teams taking part in a six hour race to see which team can do the most laps of the circuit. The track that we raced on is normally used for go-kart racing. So it was very crowded at times with 98 bikes all racing at the same time. You had to be careful on the corners when surrounded by five or six other bikes! We saw a few falls, but luckily nobody was badly hurt. There were some hilarious costumes that people wore for the race, such as a panda, a gorilla, a dragon and some cosplay outfits. They must have been hot in those costumes, it was such a sunny day. I have a red nose now from all that sun. My Irish skin is too sensitive for the Japanese sun, even in late September. October is here now, and it`s still surprisingly hot now. It`s been a long summer this year!

 

 

みなさん、こんにちは。

先週の日曜日、とってもすばらしい時間をすごしました。

HARIOイングリッシュスクール のスタッフ４人で御殿場の富士スピードウェイで行われた

「ままチャリレース」に参加したのです。

９８チームが参加をし、６時間の間にサーキットをままちゃりでどれだけ廻れるかを競います。

そのサーキットは、通常はゴーカートレースで使われているところでした。

９８チームが一斉にスタートしたので、最初はとてもギュウギュウ状態でした。

 

カーブの時には、５、６チームが一斉に曲がるので、周りを気を付けて曲がらなければいけませんでした。転んでいるチームもたくさんありましたが、我々のチームは誰も転ばず、けがもありませんでした。とっても笑えるコスチュームでレースをしているチームもありました。

あの天気のなかで、暑かったにちがいありません。レース当日は、とてもいい天気でした。

私は、レース後に鼻が真っ赤に焼けました。私のアイルランドの肌は日本の太陽にとても敏感です。

１０月になりましたが、日本はまだ暑いですね。驚きです。

なんだか今年の夏は長く感じます。
