A fun Silver Week 　楽しかったシルバーウィーク

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the break last week, despite all the rain. It was a washout here in Fuji last week, and the rain only stopped on Sunday. I took a trip to Shirakaba, Nagano Prefecture. It was my first time to visit Nagano, and I was impressed by the beautiful scenery in the mountains. Unfortunately, it was raining for most of the trip. Our hotel had an onsen, which was nice and relaxing.

We went to Suwa Lake, where it stopped raining long enough for us to take a boat ride around the lake. My daughter was happy to ride a boat that looked like a giant turtle. We also visited a music box museum. They had a big collection of songs that you could fit into any music box. I was surprised at how many modern and classic pop songs that they had. You could put The Beatles or Arashi into your music box at home.

We also visited Suwa Taisha, which is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, over 1200 years old! It still looks very beautiful these days. I enjoyed the food in Nagano too. It’s famous for apples, and I also enjoyed the beef steak there. I like the relaxing atmosphere out on the countryside of Nagano. I look forward to our next trip there. I’ve never tried skiing before, so maybe some winter I can put on skis for the first time and give it a whirl!

みなさん、こんにちは。

シルバーウィークは雨が多かったですが楽しめましたか先週富士では決壊があり、雨は日曜にやみました。私はこのお休みに長野県の白樺へ旅行に出かけました。私は長野に行くのは初めてでしたが、山々の美しい景色に感動しました。しかし残念なことに、旅行の最中も雨が降り続いていました。宿泊したホテルにはいい温泉があり、リラックスすることができました

諏訪湖にも行ってみました。そこではボートに乗って湖を回れるくらい、雨が止んでくれました。私の娘は亀の形をしたボートにとても喜んでいました。そしてオルゴール博物館にも行ってきました。そこにはどんなオルゴールにもフィットする数多くの音楽がありました。現代のものからクラシックまで本当にたくさんの種類があり、とても驚きました。なのでビートルズも嵐もオルゴールに入れる事が出来ますよ

私達はさらに1200年の歴史を持つ、日本で最も古い神社の1つである諏訪大社にも行ってきました。古いとはいっても、今でも尚、その美しさは健在です。長野での食事も大変美味しく、長野といえばのりんご、ビーフステーキも食べました。長野のゆっくりとした雰囲気がとても気に入りました。また次回、長野に行くのが楽しみです。私はスキーをしたことがないので、冬に行ってスキーに初挑戦なんかもいいかもしれません
