How are things with you? Today is my birthday. My birthday is always around the time of the summer Eiken tests and the Yoshiwara Gion Festival. Good luck to all our students taking the test and I hope to see some of our students at the festival this weekend.
As is tradition at Hario, the staff surprised me with a birthday party when I came in to work earlier. Check out the Facebook page later for photos. We did a guessing game where I had to guess who gave me which present. I didn’t guess anyone correctly. Thank you for the thoughtful presents including an ice coffee press, freezable Tupperware, a Marvel passport holder, an ice-lolly mold, and a Very Hungry Caterpillar T-shirt. You may be able to spot the last one in the camp photos. I’m holding a badminton game this weekend as a kind of celebration. I’m not very good so I don’t think I’ll win but it should be a lot of fun. I’ll tell you all about it in next week’s blog.
Thanks for reading. Also, I’d like to say a very happy birthday to Midoriko Phillips, 2 this weekend.
