Foundation and Valentine’s Day　建国記念日とバレンタイン

Hello everyone,

I’m happy to tell you that the Hario Spring Campaign is now under way! We are welcoming potential new students to try out free trial lessons with us. New students can be nervous at first, but they always have fun and leave the class smiling and happy. They gain a real sense of achievement by using real English communication from day one. Every one of our students has their own unique character, so I’m looking forward to getting to know some new ones this year.

February is here and that means there are some celebrations on the way! Firstly, on the 11th it’s Foundation Day. This is day to reflect on the establishment of Japan. The date originally celebrated the anniversary of the first emperor of Japan coming into power. Emperor Jinmu’s reign is said to have started in 660 B.C. It was so long ago that there is a lot of mythology in the story of Jimmu. We also have Valentine’s Day this month. On the 14th, women give men chocolate and cookies. Japan’s version of this holiday is different to other countries, where usually men give their partner a card and gift. Japan has White Day in March, where men repay the gift. So it’s important to remember who gave you chocolate on Valentine’s Day!

HARIO の春のキャンペーンが始まった事を嬉しく思います。ポテンシャルを秘めた新しい生徒さんの無料体験レッスンをスタッフ一同心よりお待ちしています最初は緊張すると思いますが、皆さんクラスを楽しんで頂いているようで、帰るときには笑顔で嬉しそうに退室していきます1日の英語コミュニケーションにより、達成感を得ています。HARIOの生徒さんもそれぞれ個性が違いますから、今年もまた色々な生徒さんに会えることを楽しみにしています

さて2月に入りましたね。いろいろなお祝い事がこの2月、控えています。まず11日は建国記念日です。これは日本の制定について見つめ直す日であります。この祝日は昔、日本の最初の天皇が政権を始めたことを祝った日でした。紀元前660年、初代天皇とされる神武天皇の統治が始まったと言われています。とても古い事なので、神武天皇については諸説あるようですが
そして今月はバレンタインもありますね。14日に女性は男性にクッキーやチョコを渡します。日本のバレンタインは男性が女性にカードと贈り物をするという他国のバレンタインとは少し違います。日本では3月に男性が贈り物をし返すというホワイトデーがあります。なので誰からバレンタインにチョコを貰ったか覚えておく必要がありますね
