Hello everyone,

Did you watch the Women`s World Cup Final on Monday morning? Congratulations to the U.S.A. for putting on a powerful display and winning comfortably. Commiserations to Japan, who played well but weren’t able to hold off the American`s strong attack. It was amazing to see the American striker Lloyd score three goals in only 14 minutes! I was hoping that Japan would win, they put on a good performance in this year’s World Cup. In the end the U.S.A. deserved to win, they looked like the strongest team in the tournament.
There’s more sport to look forward to now with Wimbledon already underway. I’ve always liked tennis, both playing and watching. There was a big shock this week as Rafael Nadal got knocked out in the early stages. I’m sure there is plenty more drama to look forward to.
At Hario this week we are busy recording the speeches for our students. As you can see from the picture there are a lot of speeches to record! Our students will be able to listen to myself or Kevin at home and practice the pronunciation and intonation of their speech. It takes a lot of practice to get a speech to sound right. みなさんこんにちは。

今週月曜日は女子ワールドカップ決勝でしたがご覧になりましたか
いいプレーをして快勝したアメリカにおめでとうと言いたいです。同時に、いいプレーを披露しましたがアメリカの迫力ある攻撃を阻止することができなかった日本、残念でした。それにしてもアメリカのストライカー、ロイド選手の14分間でハットトリックを決めたのは凄かったです。私は日本に勝ってほしかったですが、今回のワールドカップでも良いパフォーマンスをしてくれたと思います。最終的にアメリカが勝ちましたがトーナメントを見ていても強さがうかがえました。
もう一つの楽しみはついに始まったウィンブルドンです。私はテニスが見るのもやるのも大好きです。しかし今週びっくりするニュースがありました。ナダル選手が早々に負けてしまったのです。何が起こるかわからないのでたくさんのドラマが起こる事でしょう。
