Hello everyone,

It’s pouring rain today! The rainy season is in full swing now, but there’s only about two more weeks left of it. I’m looking forward to some drier weather later this month.

We had a staff workshop yesterday, where we spent the day working on ideas to improve the Hario experience. It was very productive and I learned about a Japanese term called “horenso”. The term is an acronym taking the first syllables of the Japanese words hokoku (report), renraku (touch base), and sodan (discuss). It’s easy to remember because it sounds like the Japanese word for spinach. It defines the importance of communication between colleagues in the workplace, and I think it’s an effective phrase to remember.

Have you been watching the Women’s World Cup? The U.S.A. are through to the final after beating Germany 2-0 yesterday. Japan face England in the other semi-final today. If Japan wins that game we will have a repeat of the last World Cup Final, Japan vs. U.S.A. The Americans are hot favorites to win it this year, but I hope Japan can surprise them again.

みなさんこんにちは。

本日はあいにく雨ですね。梅雨まっさかりですが、あと2週間ほどで梅雨が明けると思います。もう少し乾燥した気候になってくれるのを楽しみにしています

昨日はHARIOではスタッフの研修会が行われました。その中で、、HARIO をもっと良くする為にいろいろなアイディアをグループで話し合い、発表するというものがありました。とても実りの多い研修であり、多くを学ぶことができたと思います。

”報連相”という言葉も学びました。日本語の”報告”、”連絡”、”相談”のそれぞれの頭文字を取った言葉です。この言葉は野菜のほうれん草と同じ発音なので覚えるのが簡単です職場でのスタッフ同士のコミュニケーションが大事ということを再認識しました。

さて皆さんは女子ワールドカップをみてらっしゃいますか昨日アメリカがドイツを下し、決勝に進みました。本日はもう一つの準決勝で日本とイングランドが対戦します。もし日本が勝利すると、前回大会の決勝と同じ顔ぶれとなります今年はアメリカが有力とされていますが、私は日本が再び勝利することを願っています
