Hello everyone,

How was your Golden Week? I had a nice time visiting friends and family in Nagano. I ate a lot, drank a lot and relaxed a lot. I feel refreshed coming back to school. I hope you had a nice Golden Week too.

Today there is a general election in the UK. The country will vote on who the next government will be. At the moment, the prime minister is David Cameron of the Conservative Party. In Japan, the LDP and the Komeito party are in government as a coalition. In the same way, two parties, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Conservative party are in a coalition government in the UK now. The UK used to be governed by one of two major parties, Conservative and Labour. Now, however there are many smaller parties with large support. This time, probably no party will win a majority and some combination of up to 8 different parties will have to come to an agreement on how to form a government. There will probably be many days of negotiations before we know the next government. I’m very interested because it affects my future. There are many problems in the UK that need solving like a lack of housing, a large deficit and opportunities for young people. I hope the politicians can come together to solve them.

ゴールデンウィークはいかがでしたか？私は長野にある妻の実家や友人の所へ行き、とても良い時間を過ごすことができました沢山食べ、沢山飲み、沢山リラックスしました。なのでレフレッシュしてHARIOに戻ってくることができましたみなさんも良いゴールデンウィークを過ごされたといいのですが。

本日は私の母国イギリスで総選挙が行われます。次の政権は誰が握るのか皆、投票を行います。
現在の首相は保守党のデイビットキャメロン首相です。日本では自民党と公明党の連立政権です。同じように現在のイギリスは自民党と保守党の連立政権となっています。イギリスでは昔は主に保守党もしくは労働党のどちらかによって政治が行われていました。しかし現在は、大きなサポートを受けるより小さな政党が多くできました。今回の選挙ではどの政党も過半数の議席を獲得できず、8党の中から連立政権として合意に達することになりそうです。次の政府がわかる前に、どの政党かでかなりの時間が費やされると思います。
私の将来に関わることですので非常に興味があります。住居の不足、大きな負債、若者の雇用機会のように解決すべき問題が沢山あります。政治家には団結してこれらの問題を解決してもらいたいです。
