Hi everyone,

How’s life treating you at the moment? Winter has definitely begun. There have been lots of cold, sunny days in the past week or so. Last Sunday was one of them. I decided to go for a drive and see some of the sightseeing spots of Shizuoka. First, I went to the Horai Bridge. Apparently, it’s the longest wooden footbridge in the world, at nearly 1km long. It spans the Oi river. Walking across it you get a lovely view of the sea, Mt Fuji and the countryside. I also went to Kakegawa and saw its castle. It’s important historically because of its connection to the Tokugawa Shogunate. Outside the castle, I was greeted by some ninjas and samurai. They spoke to me in English. I took my photo with them. It was a fun day and I recommend going to both the Horai Bridge and Kakegawa Castle. I’m looking for other interesting places to visit around Shizuoka. Do you know any?

最近はいかがお過ごしですか？とうとう冬が始まりましたね。先週はお天気がよくてとても寒い日が続いたように感じます。先週の日曜日も、そんなとても寒い日でした。私は静岡の観光スポットをドライブすることにしました。最初、蓬莱橋に行きました。蓬莱橋は全長約１Kｍある、世界で最も長い木製の橋らしいです。大井川にかかっている橋です。橋を渡っていると、海や富士山、田舎の素敵な風景を見ることができます。掛川城を見に、掛川にも行きました。徳川幕府との関わりから、歴史的に重要なお城です。お城の外で、忍者と侍から挨拶を受けました。彼らと英語で話し、写真を撮りました。とても楽しい一日で、蓬莱橋も掛川城もおすすめです。他にも静岡県内にある楽しい場所に行くのがたのしみです。どこかいい場所、知っていますか
