Golden week approaching 　もうすぐゴールデンウィーク

Good day everyone,
How are you? Next week is Golden Week and we have a week’s holiday here at Hario English School. Do you have any plans? I’m going to spend it in Nagano, seeing friends and family. I hope to climb a mountain while I’m there. I hope you do something fun too.

みなさん、こんにちは。
ご機嫌いかがですか。来週はゴールデンウィークですね。
HARIOイングリッシュスクールも火曜日から一週間お休みとなります。
みなさんは何か予定をたてましたか。
私は長野にいき、友人や妻の家族と会いに行く予定です。
そして、長野で山登りができればいいなと思います。みなさんも、楽しんでくださいね。

Before that, on Sunday I’m taking part in the Fuji City Japanese Speech Contest. You can see photos of my practice run in yesterday’s blog post. Thank you to the esteemed judges who traveled far especially to see my speech. I’m excited and a little nervous. The mother of two of our students is a Japanese teacher. Two of her students are also taking part in the speech contest. I look forward to meeting them and seeing their speeches.

その前に、日曜日に私は「日本語スピーチコンテスト」に出場します。
昨日のブログには、練習の様子がアップされています。
私のスピーチを審査するために来てくれた審査員の２人に感謝します。
コンテストは楽しみですが、やはり少し緊張します。
HARIOの生徒さんのお母さんが、日本語の先生をしています。
その生徒さん２人も、同じくコンテストに参加するそうです。
彼らにコンテストで会えるのが楽しみですし、どんなスピーチなのか聞くのも楽しみです。

Speaking of speeches, we have started distributing speech homework for this year’s Hario English School speech contest. Those PLS students in the 9th rank and above will have the chance to make an English speech. You have a few weeks to choose an interesting topic and speech. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone writes.

スピーチというと、今年のスピーチホームワーク用の作文用紙が今週から配布されています。
対象は、PLS９級以上の小学生の皆さんで、その作文から英語のスピーチを練習していきます。
いい題材が数週間で見つかるといいですね。みなさんの作文を読むのが楽しみです。

We have started taking bookings for the first ever Hario English Camp and we’re already half full. Please book soon to avoid disappointment. I’m pleased that the students are sharing our enthusiasm for the camp. It should be a great experience and I hope you can come.

そしてHARIOイングリッシュスクールでは初となる「イングリッシュキャンプ」の参加者の応募がスタートしました。すでに定員の半分がうまりました。
