Hello readers,

Tomorrow is the last day of conversation classes before the winter break (there are some special winter grammar classes next week). So this is my last blog of the year. Last Sunday we had our annual Christmas party, but it was the first Hario English School Christmas party. Thank you to everyone who came. It was the biggest one we’ve had since I’ve worked here. I enjoyed it a lot and it seemed like the students were having lots of fun and smiling. We sang songs, played games and made a Christmas craft, a pine cone reindeer. Some of the students’ efforts were really good and much better than my pine cone reindeer! My worst subject at school was always arts and crafts but there are a few artists among our students! Santa came along towards the end. He was a lot taller than last year and had an Irish accent! How strange! We had to call out “Santa, Santa, where are you?” about 8 times before he finally arrived. I guess he’s a busy man so nevermind!

I’m spending Christmas in the UK with my family this year. I fly out on Saturday and I’m looking forward to be back home for a little while. I hope you all do something nice to celebrate this season, whether it’s Christmas or the New Year.

みなさん、こんにちは。

明日が２０１３年の最後の授業となります。（「冬期講習」は来週まであります。）

ということで、これが２０１３年の私の最後のブログとなります。

先週の日曜日は、毎年恒例の「クリスマスパーティ」を行いました。恒例といっても、HARIOイングリッシュスクール になってからは初めてのパーティでした。参加してくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました。

私が参加した中で、一番大きなクリスマス会となりました。とても楽しいパーティでした。

生徒の皆さんも楽しんでいて、笑顔がたくさん見えました。

クリスマスの歌を歌い、楽しいゲームをして、クリスマスの工作をして、松ぼっくりでトナカイを作りました。

生徒さんの中には、とてもうまく「トナカイ」を作っている子もいて、私のよりも、きれいにできていました。

私の苦手な教科は常に「図工」でした。そんな中、参加者の中には、アーティストが何人かいました。

パーティの終盤では、サンタクロースが遊びにきました。去年のサンタさんよりずっと背が高くて、なんだかアイリッシュのアクセントがあったように思いました。不思議ですね。

皆で、「サンタさん、サンタさん、どこにいるの？」と８回も呼びました。やっとサンタさんが現われました。

サンタさんは忙しいですから、許してあげましょう。

今年のクリスマスは、イギリスで家族とすごします。土曜日の飛行機で発ちます。とても楽しみです。
