Hello everyone,

Things are getting spooky here at Hario! As Halloween approaches, some scary decorations have begun to magically appear all over our English school. I think Hario might be turning into a haunted mansion! There are less than two weeks to go until our Halloween week begins! There will be lots of fun and games, so get your costume ready and join the party. Don’t be afraid!

Did you check out the world Expo in Osaka this year? The months long event came to an end on Monday 13th. Over 25 million people visited the event in total. I’m not surprised by this number because when I went in June, it was probably the most people I have ever seen in one place. There were thousands of people as far as I could see, in all directions. From seeing the expo on other days on TV or in the news, it was always full to capacity, so the number of visitors was huge. It was also a big financial success, making about 28 billion yen. Again, I’m not surprised by that number because everything was so expensive in there. Even little souvenirs were very overpriced, so I found better deals for expo souvenirs outside of the venue. The event was completely cashless, so you had to have a credit card or something like Pay Pay available to buy anything. The event itself was nice to look at, the pavilions were beautifully designed and the vast wooden ring around the venue was really impressive. Due to the number of people attending you can only get inside a few pavilions in one day, so choose wisely. The next world expo will be in Saudi Arabia five years from now. I wonder how much will have changed by then?

ハリオでは、だんだんと不気味な雰囲気になってきました

ハロウィンが近づくにつれて、英会話スクールのあちこちに怖い飾りが魔法のように現れ始めています。

ハロウィンウィークまであと2週間を切りました！楽しいゲームやイベントが盛りだくさんなので、仮装の準備をしてぜひ参加してくださいね。怖がらなくても大丈夫ですよ

今年、大阪で開催された万博には行きましたか数ヶ月にわたって開催されたこのイベントは、10月13日（月）に終了しました。総来場者数は2,500万人以上だったそうです。私は6月に行ったのですが、あれほど多くの人を一度に見たのは初めてかもしれません。どこを見ても人、人、人で、まさに人の海でした。

テレビやニュースで他の日の様子を見ても、いつも満員だったので、この数字にも納得です。経済的にも大成功で、約280億円の収益があったそうです。これも驚きではありません。というのも、会場内の物価がとても高かったからです。

小さなお土産でさえかなり割高だったので、私は会場外でより良い価格のものを見つけました。イベントは完全キャッシュレスで、買い物にはクレジットカードやPayPayなどが必要でした。

会場自体はとても見応えがあり、パビリオンのデザインが美しく、会場を囲む巨大な木製のリングは本当に印象的でした。来場者数が多いため、1日に入れるパビリオンは限られているので、計画的に回ることが大切です。次回の万博は5年後、サウジアラビアで開催される予定です。その頃には、どれだけ世の中が変わっているのでしょうか
