Hey, I hope that everyone had a nice golden week.

This year Golden week was very boring. I ended up staying at home because of the coronavirus. Normally during Golden week, I go travelling in and out of Japan. But to protect myself and others from the infection, I decided to stay at home. I did not really do much at home during Golden week, I spent the majority of my time watching tv, movies, playing video games and video calling with my family. One movie that I watched during golden week was a movie called 1917. The movie is about two British soldiers who are sent to deliver an unrgent message to an isolated regiment. If the message is not recieved in time the regiment will walk into a trap. To get to the regiment they need to cross through enemy territory. Time is of the essence and the journey presents many dangers. This is not the first time that I have seen this movie, but because I enjoyed it so much the first time I decided to watch it a second time.

As well as movies and tv shows, I also played a lot of video games during Golden week. One video game that I played a lot was Fortnite. Fortnite is a cooperative shooter survival game for up to four players. Fortnite has three different modes, but most people end up playing the battle royale mode where up to 100 players fight to be the last man standing. This game is very popular as it allows players to customise their characters in many different costumes, select a large variety of weapons, build and destroy structures and many more fun options.

今年のゴールデンウィークはとてもつまらないものになりました。いつもはゴールデンウィークになると、私は海外へ旅行をしますが、結局今年は、コロナ予防のために、ずっと家にいました。でも家にいても特にやることもなく。テレビや映画をみたり、ゲームをしたり、海外にいる家族とビデオ通話をしたり・・・それぐらいでした。ゴールデンウィークの間にみた映画の一つに1917というのがあります。これは、二人のイギリス兵の話です。彼らは戦場の最前線にいる見方に、作戦中止の伝達をするよう命じられます。でもその見方の場所にいくには、敵の陣地をぬけ、またしかけられた罠もくぐりぬけ、少しでも早く仲間のもとへたどり着く必要がありました・・・というような内容で。この映画はすでに一度みたことがあったのですが、とてもよかったので2回目をみました。

映画やテレビをみただけでなく、ゲームもしました。その中でもフォートナイトにはまりました。これはサバイバルゲームです。最終的には、最後に生き残ったプレーヤーと100人のプレーヤーが戦います。このゲームはとても人気です。自分のキャラクターにコスチュームや武器をもたせたりして、オリジナルを作れたり、他にもユーザーを飽きさせない面白い機能がついています。
