The Speech Contest approaches!　スピーチコンテストがやってくる！

Hello everyone,

It’s November, and the speech contest is this month! As we approach the big day on the 17th, we held a rehearsal for the 10th rank activity last Saturday. It was great to have all the kids together to practice their performance. Every year we sing some songs and dance on the stage. This year there are songs as usual, but also something different that we have never tried before. I’m looking forward to seeing how it looks on the big stage. Good luck to all of our students and I hope the audience enjoys the show. Now that the speech contest is near, our parent’s days are under way this week. All of our elementary school students will perform their speech in the front of the parents in class. It’s time to show all of the hard work they have put in to their speech. We have already had some wonderful performances in class since last week, and the parents look so proud of their kids. I’m proud of them too, they deserve the applause after every speech.

Last Sunday I went to Shizuoka City to see the street performance festival. It took place all over the city center so you could wander around and see different acts. I saw some amazing acrobatics from some of the performers. As you can see in the photo, one man climbed a pole and stood on top of it without any safety harness. Then he juggled some flaming sticks up there. He also juggled a chainsaw which was terrifying to watch. We also saw some amazing “speed art”, where an artist uses spray paint and tricks to create an excellent painting in a few minutes. There was a giant hippopotamus walking around the streets too. He was crying and spraying water from his eyes, which hit some people as he passed by. Even though it was people in a suit, he was very scary, and young kids were running away! Well recommended for a day out. We had a great time.

みなさんこんにちは、アランです。

11月になり、今月はスピーチコンテストがあります17日のビッグイベントを迎えるにあたって、10級のアクティビティのリハーサルを先週の土曜日に行いました。子供たちが全員一緒になって演技の練習ができ、良かったです。毎年ステージ上で何曲か歌ったり踊ったりします。今年も例年通り歌がありますが、今までにやったことないような何かちがったものもあります大きなステージではどんな風に見えるのか楽しみです生徒の皆さんがんばってください！そして観客の皆さんが発表を楽しんでくれたらと思います。スピーチコンテストも近く成り、授業参観も今週行っています。小学生の生徒達は皆、クラスで保護者の前でスピーチを発表します。今まで頑張ってきたスピーチ練習のすべての成果を見せる時ですもうすでに先週から何名か素晴らしいスピーチをクラスでしてくれました。保護者の皆さんも子供たちを誇らしく思っているように見えました私も誇らしいです。どのスピーチも賞賛に値します。

先週の日曜日私は静岡市に大道芸を見に行きました。街中あちこちで行われていたので、ぶらぶらして様々な演技を見る事ができました。

いくつかすばらしいアクロバットの演技を観ました。写真からもわかる通り、男が一人ポールに登り、命綱もつけずにそのてっぺんに立ちました。それから彼はその上で火のついた棒をジャグリングしていました。また、チェーンソーもジャグリングし、見ていて恐ろしかったです！

すばらしい「スピードアート」も見ました。画家が数分で素晴らしい絵を創るためにスプレーと仕掛けを使います。路上には巨大なカバも歩いていました。彼は泣いており、目から水を噴射していました。そしてその水が、カバが通ると人々に当たっていました。中に人が入っていたとはいえ、とても恐ろしく、小さな子供たちは逃げ回っていました！

ともかく、日帰りにはおすすめです。とても良い時間が過ごせました。
