Hello everyone!

I hope you are enjoying the summer so far, especially those of you who are on your Summer Holidays! Make sure you are careful in the hot summer sun and drink a lot of water.

At HARIO we use many types of cards and games to make our English lessons more enjoyable. It’s great for both the teachers and students to laugh and have a fun time learning or teaching English. I have been a fan of card and board games ever since I was a small child. I remember getting a set of Star Wars Monopoly and RISK for Christmas when I was young and I had so much fun playing those games. I find board and card games to be much more social than playing a videogame online, even with your friends.

As an adult, I still enjoy playing card and board games outside of HARIO. One of my favourite places in my home city of Toronto is a special board game café called Snakes and Lattes. It’s a restaurant/café that has hundreds of board games that you can freely use while you are there, including many you may never have seen before! While attending University, my friends and I would go there nearly once a week to try out a new game and play some favourites. My recent favourites have been the Game of Thrones board game and Betrayal at House on the Hill. Who wouldn’t want to have your own war for the Iron Throne or explore a haunted mansion together with your friends?

みなさんこんにちは！

夏を楽しんでいますでしょうか。特に夏休みに入った生徒のみなさん！夏の暑い太陽には十分気を付けて水をたくさん飲んでください。

 

ＨＡＲＩＯでは英語のレッスンをもっと楽しくする為に様々な種類のカードやゲームを使用しています。

講師と生徒両方にとって笑ったり楽しく英語を学んだり教えたりする時間を持つことはとても良いことです。

私は小さなころからカードやボードゲームが大好きでした幼い頃スターウォーズのすごろくや,ＲＩＳＫというボードゲームをクリスマスにもらい、たくさん遊んだことを覚えています。

ボードゲームやカードゲームはオンラインや、友達とテレビゲームをするよりもより社交的であると思いました。

 

大人になってからはＨＡＲＩＯの外で今でもカードやボードゲームを楽しんでいます。

故郷トロントの私のお気に入りの場所の一つは「snake and ratts (蛇とねずみ)」と呼ばれるスペシャルボードゲームカフェです

そこでは何百ものボードゲームを自由に使うことができます。皆さんが今までに見たことのないようなものもたくさんあります！

大学に通っていた頃は友達と新しいゲームやお気に入りのゲームをしに週に一回は行ったものです

最近のお気に入りは「Thrones board game」と「Betrayal at House on the Hill」というボードゲームです。友達とお化け屋敷を探検したり、鉄の王のために戦いをしたくない人なんていますか？いませんよね。
