Hello everyone,

Did you watch Japan’s World Cup last 16 match last night? If you did, you must be very sleepy today! It began at 3AM last night, so only die-hard soccer fans would watch it. I didn’t watch it because 3AM is far too late for me. I predicted Belgium to win. They are very strong and ranked 3rd in the world. When I woke up this morning and heard that Belgium had won, I didn’t feel surprised. However, when I watched the highlights of the game, I felt so sorry for Japan! The Blue Samurai put on a great performance and went 2-0 into the lead in the second half. Belgium scored twice to make it 2-2, and then scored a third winning goal in the last few seconds. It was heart-breaking to watch the Japanese team lose, when they were so close to reaching the quarter finals. I think if they had beaten Belgium, they could beat any team. Sadly, it’s not going to happen, and Belgium will face Brazil in the quarter final. This week also saw some other shock results, with Russia beating Spain on penalties and Argentina being knocked out by France. Ronaldo is also going home after Portugal were beaten by Uruguay. It’s a very interesting World Cup with lots of goals in every game. Many of the remaining games are at 3AM, so I will have to settle for watching the highlights the next morning.

Here in Shizuoka prefecture, it looks like the rainy season is almost over. It really feels like summer now, with high temperatures and sticky humidity. It’s time to use the air conditioners and stay cool indoors. The summer here is long and the hot weather stays until end of September. So stay cool this summer and have fun!

みなさん、こんにちは。

昨夜の日本のワールドカップラウンド１６はの試合をご覧になりましたか？

もしそうなら今日はとても眠いはずですね！昨夜の３時に試合が始まったので、根っからのサッカーファンだけが見たはずです。

私には朝３時はとても遅すぎて見ることはできませんでしたベルギーが勝つと思っていました。彼らはとても強くて世界ランク３位です。今朝起きてベルギーが勝ったと聞いて驚きませんでした。しかし、試合のハイライトを見て、日本をとても気の毒に思いました

青い侍たちはすばらしいパフォーマンスでセカンドハーフでは２－０でリードしていました。

ベルギーが２度得点し、２－２になり、最後の数秒で決定点３を決めました。

準々決勝にとても近づいていた日本のチームが負けるのを見るのは非常に残念でした。

私が思うに、もし日本がベルギーを打ち負かしていたら、日本はどのチームも倒せたはずです

悲しいことにそれは叶わず、ベルギーは準々決勝でブラジルと対戦します。

また今週他にもショックな結果をみましたロシアがスペインをペナルティで倒し、アルゼンチンがフランスに倒されました。

ロナルドもポルトガルがウルグアイに負けて帰国します。

どの試合もたくさんのゴールがあり、大変おもしろいワールドカップです。

残された試合のほとんどが朝の３時ですので、わたしは翌朝ハイライトを見ることになりそうです。

 

ここ静岡県では、梅雨はほとんど終わったようです今は本当に夏のようです。気温が高く、べたべたする湿気があります。

今こそエアコンを使って屋内で涼しく過ごす時です。日本の夏は長く、暑い天気が９月まで続きます。

ですから今年の夏を涼しく、楽しく過ごしてください！
