It’s now the “dog days of summer” and it is very hot and humid outside. There’s one thing that can really help cool you off…ice cream!

Ice cream-like foods have existed for over 2000 years! During the Roman Empire, Nero Claudius Caesar frequently sent runners into the mountains for snow, which was then flavored with fruits and juices. In China, buffalo milk and rice was packed into snow to make a sweet, frozen food. Modern ice creams and sherberts are said to have been originated in 16^th century Europe by blending milk, cream, butter and eggs.

One of the most famous brands of ice cream is Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. This brand is famous for the rich texture and added treats inside the ice cream? But why is Ben and Jerry’s ice cream known to be extra “chunky”? Because the “Ben” in Ben and Jerry has a rare condition known as anosmia, he has no sense of taste or smell! So when he and Jerry decided to start an ice cream company, he wanted to be able to enjoy the ice cream too so he made sure that each flavor had a lot of texture! Crunchy, soft, crispy, chewy, so many things can be added to ice cream besides flavours.

My favourite ice cream is coconut. It’s simple, but I love the taste! Though if I feel like I want something with some extra texture, Rocky Road is good too. It was recently my birthday and I requested an ice cream cake. It was so delicious AND had Pooh and Piglet on it, very cute!

みなさん、こんにちは。「夏真っ盛り」ですね。外はとても暑く蒸し蒸ししています。ただ一つ実に涼しくしてくれるものがあります…アイスクリームです！

アイスクリームのようなものが存在したのは2000年も昔です！ローマ帝国時代、ネロ・クラウディウスが雪を得るために頻繁に人を山へ遣わし、それにフルーツやジュースで味付けをしました。中国では水牛のミルクと米が甘くする為に雪に密封されました。

現代のアイスクリームとシャーベットは16世紀のヨーロッパで牛乳と生クリーム、バターとタマゴを混ぜて作られたのが起源だと言われています。

最も有名なアイスクリームブランドの一つに「ベン・アンド・ジェリーズ・アイスクリーム」があります

このブランドは濃厚な味わいとアイスの中にごちそうを加えたことで有名です。

しかしなぜベン・アンド・ジェリーズ・アイスクリームはよりゴロっとした感じで有名なのでしょうか？

なぜかというと、「ベン・アンド・ジェリー」の「ベン」はめずらしい臭覚障害をわずらっており、味や香りの感覚が全くありません

そのためジェリーと彼がアイスクリーム会社を始める決心をしたとき、彼もアイスクリームを楽しみたいと思ったので、それぞれのフレーバーにたくさんの食感があるようにしました

カリカリ、柔らかい、パリパリ、腰がある、など味意外にアイスたくさんのものが加えられます。

私のお気に入りのアイスクリームはココナッツですシンプルですが、味が最高です

何かもっと食感を楽しめるものが欲しいと思ったら、ロッキーロードもいいですけどね。

最近私の誕生日があり、アイスクリームケーキをお願いしました

とっても美味しく、そして、プーさんとピグレットが乗っていました！すごくかわいかった！
