How was your Winter Vacation?

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a good winter vacation and are well rested after the break. I had a very relaxing holiday. I stayed in Fuji and had days out with my daughter and family. I took my daughter to the circus in Obuchi. It’s a World circus with performers from many different countries. They have all the classic circus performances, such as juggling, trapeze, acrobats and scary clowns. There are some very impressive skills on display so I recommend checking it out. On Christmas Eve we had a traditional Japanese dinner of fried chicken, followed by cake for dessert. We then exchanged and opened our Christmas presents. My daughter was so happy with her presents from her relatives in Ireland and Japan. On Christmas Day her friends came to our house for a party, so we ate even more cake and snacks. Our family received a lot of snacks and sweets as New Year’s gifts. We got so many that I think I ate snacks almost every day of the vacation! Now that it’s over I can think about eating healthy again. For New Year’s Eve we stayed in and watched a TV show called Kohaku. It has become a tradition for families to watch this show to ring in the New Year. It features popular singers from throughout the year performing. There is a red team and a white team, and people can vote for the winning team. At the end there is a big countdown to the New Year. I saw Shibuya crossing on TV too. It was completely packed with people who wanted to celebrate the New Year in the busiest place in Japan. It looked cold, so I was happy to stay home! My wife’s brother and sister stayed with us during the break. They live in Yokohama, so we only see them during holidays. My daughter had a great time playing with them.

Now that the vacation is over, it’s time to get things rolling here at Hario. We have the spring campaign coming up next month. From February 4th, anyone interested can come in for 4 free trial lessons. I’m already looking forward to meeting new students.

富士にとどまり、娘や家族とお出かけをしました。娘を大渕のサーカスえ連れて行きました。様々な国のパフォーマーによる世界的なサーカスでした。古典的なサーカスの演目がありました。たとえばジャグリングや、ブランコ乗り、アクロバットに、怖いピエロなどです。とても印象的な技がいくつかあり、みなさんも見ることをおすすめします
