Hello everyone!

 Last week was Golden Week and I hope everyone had a great time  I know some of you have a very busy schedule and spent your Golden Week at school or sports clubs and some of you went on holiday or relaxed at home. Whatever you ended up doing I hope you had fun!

This was my first Golden Week in Japan and it was fun but frustrating at the same time. It’s great to have a week off but it was difficult to find places to go that weren’t booked up weeks and weeks in advance! That’s the issue when a lot of people have the same time off, everything gets busy and more expensive. Our original plan was to go hiking and camping in Nagano but due to the weather and lack of rental cars we had to cancel that trip. But! We still had an amazing time going on a couple of small trips closer to home.

 First up we went for a drive to Lake Motosu and the beautiful surrounding area. We were able to visit an old fashioned shopping village and a more modern one. It was great to take part in making some arts and crafts and eating all the homemade snacks and desserts. Our bellies were so full!

 Next we spent a day at the Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise with almost the whole family! It was so big and there were so many things to see. I was especially excited to see my favourite animal, the beluga whale (or white dolphin in Japanese). You will even find a little one in my classroom now

After a long day we went for dessert at the Kaiju restaurant in Kawasaki. It was such a cool and weird restaurant with people in costume, paintings, toys, sound effects and special Kaiju menu items! If you are a fan of giant monsters then you must go to a Kaiju Restaurant.

Next up was supposed to be a baseball game in Yokohama but unfortunately the demand for tickets were high and even though we waited in line 4 hours before the game the tickets were sold out so we spent the day shopping and walking around the harbourfront of Yokohama on a warm and sunny Friday!

みなさんこんにちは！

 

先週はＧＷでした。みなさん素晴らしい時間を過ごせましたでしょうか。

中には忙しい生徒さんもおり、ゴールデンウィークを学校やスポーツクラブで過ごしたり、ある生徒さんたちは休日出かけたり、家でくつろいでいたかと思います

何をしたのであれ、楽しかったならよかったです！

 

今回が私にとって初めての日本のゴールデンウィークでした。

とても楽しかったですが、同時にイライラするものでもありました。

一週間も休みがあるのはすばらしいことですが、何週間も前から予約をしていないと出かける場所を探すのはとても困難でした！

たくさんの人が同時に休むせいです。どこも混んでいるし、お金がいつもよりかかります。

元々の予定では長野へキャンプとハイキングをしに行くつもりでしたが、天候の理由とレンタカーが借りられなかったために旅行をキャンセルしなければなりませんでした

でも！家にもっと近いところでいくつか小旅行をし素晴らしい時間を過ごしました

始めに美しい景色に囲まれた本栖湖へドライブをしました。

古い商いの村ともう少し現代的な村へ行くことができました。芸術作品や工芸品の作成に参加したり、手づくりのお菓子やデザートを食べられてとても良かったです。お腹いーっぱいになりました!!

 

次の日はほとんど家族全員で横浜八景島シーパラダイスへ行きました。とても大きく、見る物がたくさんありました。

特に私のお気に入りの動物であるベルーガ(日本語でシロイルカ)を見て興奮しました皆さんは今度から教室で小さなベルーガを見つける事もできますよ。

長い一日の後は、川崎にある怪獣レストランに行きましたなんてかっこよくて奇妙なレストランでしょう。

コスチュームを来た人たち、ペイント、おもちゃ、音響、そしてスペシャル怪獣メニューのアイテム！

もしみなさんが巨大な化け物が好きでしたら、絶対怪獣レストランへ行くべきです。

その次は横浜で野球の試合を見に行くはずでしたが、チケットが非常に人気が高く、試合開始の4時間前から並んだにもかかわらず、チケットは売り切れてしまいました

なので買い物をしたり、温かく晴天の金曜日に横浜港周辺を散歩して過ごしました！
