Hello everyone,

I hope you’re enjoying the warmer weather that we are having throughout the spring. The last few days were nice and sunny. Let’s hope that keeps up. It’s perfect weather to get out and about in Fuji’s parks. This is my favorite time of the year to go for a walk or kick a football about in a park with my family. Fuji has a good variety to choose from: Chuo, Hiromi, Yonenomiya, Yoshiwara, Nishi, Harada, Iwamotoyama, and so on. The cherry blossom is finished, but we still enjoy walking around these parks all year round. I visited Hiromi Park recently and it has one of the only museums in Fuji City. It was really interesting to see the history of this city because it’s a small city that we don’t hear much about in the news. I also enjoy the view of the giant stone tetrapods from Tagonoura Park on the coast. It’s too dangerous to swim in the sea there, so it’s blocked off by these giant stones all along the beach. I’ve never seen anything like that back in Ireland. We have many nice beaches in Ireland, but often it’s too cold to go for a trip to them. When it gets warm in July, however, the beaches can fill up with people making the most of the short Irish summer. If it’s over 20 degrees, Irish people think it’s hot enough to go to the beach. I didn’t mind when I was young and didn’t really feel the cold. But when I got older and walked into the sea my feet felt like ice in the water, so I stopped visiting the beach in Ireland. I appreciate having a long stretch of warm weather for about six months in Japan.

春の暖かい気候に心弾んでお過ごしでしょうか？

ここ数日間はとても過ごしやすい天気でしたね

 

これからも過ごしやすい温度が続けばなぁと思っています！！

外に繰り出して公園なんかに行くにはとてもいい温度ですしね

 

家族で公園に行って散歩やサッカーをしたりするにはとても適しているので、1年の中でも特に好きなシーズンです

 

富士市にはたくさんの公園があるので、今日はどこで過ごそうかなんて考えるのも楽しいですよね

中央公園、広見公園、米の宮公園、吉原公園、西公園、原田公園、岩本山公園、などなど

行くところに困らないくらい公園がありますね

 

桜は散りましたが、年中散歩を楽しめそうです

広見公園を最近訪れたのですが、そこには富士に数少ないミュージアムがあります。

 

富士市は小さい街なので普段あまり街の歴史について知る機会はそう多くないので、とても面白い経験ができました

 

そして田子の浦では、大きなテトラポットが見れました！！

津波が町に入ってくるのを防ぐと同時に、海で泳ぐのはとても危険なので、人々が泳がないようにブロックしているんですね！

 

アイルランドではテトラポットのようなものは見たことがありません

 

アイルランドにもたくさん綺麗な海がありますが、遊びにいくには寒すぎるので誰もいきません！

7月に暖かくなってきたら、人がたくさん押し寄せて短い夏を楽しんだりはしていますけどね

 

20度以上の気温になるとようやく、アイルランド人は海に行くことを決心します

私が子供の頃は寒さなんて気にせず泳ぎにいっていましたけどね

 

年を取るにつれて、海の中に足を入れると「寒い！」と感じるようになってきました。

なのでアイルランではそれ以来海に行っていないように思います

 

日本では6か月間もの長い間、ずっと暖かい気候が続くことに心から感謝しています
