What a fun weekend!

Hello everyone,

Did you check out the Yoshiwara Gion Festival last weekend? It’s always a bright and lively event. The first thing you notice as you arrive is the noise. You can hear many taiko drums and traditional flutes being played from the inside of floats. These floats represent different neighbourhoods around Yoshiwara, and they are dragged through the streets by residents. Usually there are children playing instruments inside, and some of our students took part this year. Every year that I go the festival I see a few Hario students. It was very hot last Saturday so I really enjoy the shaved ice at the festival.

先週末は吉原祇園祭に行きましたか祇園祭は活気は毎年活気がすごいですね。まず祇園祭にいくと、大きな音が聞こえてきます。山車の中から聞こえる太鼓や笛の音です。この山車は地区ごとにことなり、吉原商店街を練り歩きます。山車の中ではことも達が笛や太鼓をたたいています。HARIO生の何人かもこれに参加していました。

毎年お祭りにいくたびに、数人のHARIO生に会います。

土曜日はとても暑かったので、お祭りで食べたかき氷が最高でした

On Sunday we got up at 4:30A.M. to go to Disneyland for my daughter’s birthday. It was my first time at Tokyo Disneyland and we all had a great time. There were ten of us in total, my wife, her parents, brother, sister, cousins, and uncle all came along. My daughter really enjoyed herself, especially when she met Mickey Mouse. It was very busy there, however the queues for the attractions weren’t too long. The longest we waited was about one hour, which I’ve heard is quite good for a Sunday. We got fast passes three times for the popular attractions, which was a good idea because they had long queues. My favourite rides were Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Star Tours. We had lunch in a restaurant which is actually inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. You can see the boats go by from your table! The parades were great fun too. It all made for a magical day, and the best third birthday my daughter could have hoped for. I’m already looking forward to going again someday.

そして日曜日は、４：３０に起きて娘の誕生日を祝うためにディズニーランドへ行きました。私にとって初めての東京ディズニーランドで本当に楽しかったです。私の妻、妻の両親、弟、妹、いとこ、叔父、私と娘の１０人で行きました。娘は、ミッキーマウスに会ったとき特に楽しそうでした。ディズニーラドはとても混んでいましたが、アトラクションに並ぶ列はそれほど混んではいませんでした。長くても１時間待ちでした。日曜日は空いていると聞いていたので日曜日で正解です。

ファストパスを使って人気のアトラクションにも乗りました。私が気に入ったのは、スプラッシュマウンテン、ビッグサンダーマウンテン、それとスターツアーでした。またパイレーツキャリビアンの中にあるレストランで食事をしました。ボートを食事をしながら見ることができます。パレードも面白かったです。本当に魔法のような一日でした。娘にとっても最高の３才の誕生日だったと思います
