Hello everyone,

Tomorrow will be the longest day of the year, June 21st, also known as the summer solstice. That means the sun won’t set until about 7PM. I usually imagine it to be a bright day, however, it’s the rainy season, so it’s actually overcast in Japan. The day is a lot longer in Ireland, where the sun doesn’t set until 9:30PM! It feels strange walking around in daylight at 9PM. If you want an even longer day, go to Svalbard, Norway, the northernmost inhabited region of Europe. There is no sunset from approximately 19 April to 23 August. That’s a long day! However, if you go there, you should bring a coat, because the average temperature is about 0 degrees. Also, you will be sharing the island with polar bears, so don’t go outside too often. Back to Japan, where the humid rainy season is in full swing. I think it began earlier than usual this year, so hopefully it will end by mid-July. Whenever it rainy and we can’t go outside, my daughter likes to go to the shopping mall. She likes shopping for books and stationery, but I think the main attraction is crane games or “UFO catchers” as they are called in Japan. These games are so popular that you can find them almost everywhere. Kids love the thrill of trying to win random goods of their favorite anime or game. I have to admit, I’ve tried it myself a few times. But the claw is too weak to pick anything up, so it seems impossible!

６月２１日は一年で最も日が長い、夏至としても知られています。

つまり、午後7時頃まで太陽が沈まないということです。

いつもは明るい日を想像しますが、梅雨の時期なので実際は曇り空です。

アイルランドでは日がとても長く、太陽は午後 9 時半まで沈みません。

午後9時に歩き回るのは奇妙な気分です。

さらに長い一日を過ごしたい場合は、ヨーロッパ最北の有人地域であるノルウェーのスバールバル諸島に行ってください。

4 月 19 日頃から 8 月 23 日頃までは日没がありません

長い一日ですね！ ただし、平均気温は約0度なので、行く場合は上着を持って行ったほうがいいでしょう。

また、島をシロクマと共有することになるので、あまり外出しないでください

話を日本に戻すと、こちらは湿気の多い梅雨真っ盛りです。

今年は例年より早く始まったようなので、7月中旬には終わるといいですね。

雨が降って外に出られないときは、娘はショッピングモールに行くのが好きです。

彼女は本や文房具を買うのが好きですが、一番の目的はUFOキャッチャーです。

これらのゲームはすごく人気があるので、どこでも見つけることができます。

子供たちは、お気に入りのアニメやゲームのランダムなグッズを獲得しようとするスリルが大好きです。

正直に言いますが、私自身も何度か試してみました。 UFOキャッチーのアームが弱すぎて何もとれません
