The Speeches are Arriving

Hello everyone,

At the moment, our students are busy writing their speeches. So, there are lots of them coming in to us every day now. I`m enjoying reading them and it`s interesting to see what each student has going on in their life outside of English. We get to see what is important to the student, what they are interested in, their dreams for the future, and so on. The subject of students` speeches are a great talking point to use in English class. They are always happy to talk about their interests and they can teach me all about their chosen topic. We have all sorts of speeches that come in to us every year, such as family trips, school events, funny incidents, tear-jerkers, the list goes on. Make me laugh, make me cry, make a wonderful speech.

Golden week is coming soon, and I`ve been asking our students about their plans for the upcoming holiday. Many of them have just begun school clubs at their new junior high or high school, so they will be busy at their club for the entire break! Others are taking family trips to other parts of the country. I always think of Golden Week as the holiday with the best weather, it`s becoming so nice and warm every day. Enjoy Golden week and see you in May!

今、生徒たちはスピーチ書くのに忙しくしていることでしょう。

毎日のようにたくさんのスピーチが提出されてきて、読むのがとても楽しいです。

英語の授業以外で生徒たちがどんな生活をしているのか、何に興味があるのか、将来の夢は何なのかなど、さまざまな一面を見ることができます。スピーチのテーマは英語クラスでの会話のきっかけとしても最適で、生徒たちは自分の興味のあることについて話すのが大好きですし、選んだテーマについて私にいろいろ教えてくれます。

毎年、本当にさまざまなスピーチが届きます。家族旅行、学校行事、おもしろい出来事、泣ける話など、本当にバラエティ豊かです。笑わせてくれても、泣かせてくれても、素晴らしいスピーチを楽しみにしています

もうすぐゴールデンウィークですね。

最近、生徒たちに今年の予定を聞いています。新しい中学校や高校で部活動を始めたばかりの生徒が多く、連休中はずっと部活で忙しいという子もいます。一方で、家族旅行で県外へ出かけるという生徒もいます。私はゴールデンウィークは一年の中で一番気候が良い休暇だと思っています。毎日どんどん暖かくなってきて、とても過ごしやすいですね。
