Hello everyone,

We just had some rain here, which seems quite rare considering how dry July has been this year. I even heard a distant rumble of thunder. Is the rainy season coming back? I thought it had finished so early.

Here at Hario, all of our speeches have been handed out now. So, all of our speech students are busy learning them. I can hear some last-minute recitals going on in the waiting room before they are checked by us teachers. They have only been working at it for one week, but I can already see some of our students are extremely serious about achieving perfection. Some of them have listened far more times than our recommended amount. It’s fantastic to see such motivation, self-discipline and dedication to putting in the work needed to perform an excellent speech. Good luck to all of you! Remember, success comes from effort. I think I heard that phrase in a speech before…

With summer vacation just a week away, I’ve been asking our students if they have any plans for the holiday. Most of them will be staying home and relaxing or continuing to study. Vacations can be busy times for students too, with summer lessons, school homework and their school clubs continuing throughout the holiday. Here at Hario, we will have summer vacation grammar lessons and also, a new special conversation lesson. It promises to be a fun class and is different from our usual PLS or conversation classes. So, sign up for our summer classes and enjoy expanding your English skills during your vacation!

こちらでは、雨が少し降りました。今年の7月はとても乾燥していたので、珍しいことのように感じます。遠くから雷の音も聞こえました。雨季が戻ってくるのでしょうか？梅雨は終わったと思っていましたが…

さて、Harioでは、スピーチ課題の配布が終了しました。そのため、今週から生徒たちは一生懸命スピーチの学習に取り組んでいます。待合室では、最後のテストを行いながら、先生たちにチェックを受ける前の光景が見られます。学習を始めてまだ1週間ですが、すでに完璧を目指して熱心に取り組んでいる生徒も見受けられます。推奨回数以上に聞き込んでいる生徒もいて、その意欲、自己管理能力、努力への献身を目の当たりにするのは本当に素晴らしいことです。みなさん、頑張ってください努力こそが成功につながるという言葉を以前、スピーチで聞いたことがある気がします…。

夏休みまであと1週間となり、生徒たちに休暇の予定について尋ねています。ほとんどの生徒は家でリラックスしたり、塾や自宅などで勉強する予定のようです。夏休み中も忙しい時間を過ごす生徒が多いです。夏期講習や学校の宿題、部活動などが休み中も続いています。Harioでは、夏休みの文法レッスンに加え、新しい特別会話レッスンも用意しています通常のPLSや会話クラスとは異なる楽しい内容となる予定です。この夏、ぜひ夏期講習に参加して、英語のスキルを伸ばしてみませんか？
