Hello everyone,

 How are you doing? This weekend, the Eiken interview tests will take place. Good luck to all of our students who are sitting these tests. We have started another round of parents day classes for those students who did speech homework. It’s a nice way to finish months of hard work by our students and I’m glad of the chance to see our students parents and show them what we do in class. If you haven’t read the Hario newsletter yet, please do because there is an important announcement in there.

　Last weekend was a three day weekend. Did you do anything special? My wife and I went to Tokyo on Friday to see an art exhibition in Ueno. It was called ‘Fear in Painting’ or ‘怖い絵展’ and showed paintings featured in a series of bestselling series of art history books by Kyoko Nakano. It was really interesting, even if, like me, you don’t know a lot about art because they explain the history and the story behind each painting. It’s been a big hit so we had to queue for nearly two hours to get in and it was packed with people. Ueno park was beautiful with the autumn leaves in red and yellow. The museum was right next to Ueno Zoo, so we also had a look in there. The famous panda cub was not on display and the mother was shy and mostly hiding from visitors, which is fine and her choice. They had many animals from Madagascar so I saw some that I never knew existed, let alone seen before, including a very unusual primate called an aye-aye. We had a great day seeing new things and learning.

みなさん、こんにちは。今週は、英検の二次試験がありますね。受験者の皆さん、頑張ってくださいね。

数カ月に渡って最後まで言えるようになった成果を皆さんにみていただくよい機会です。

先週は３連休でした。皆さん、どう過ごしましたか。私は妻と東京の上野へいき、ある美術展をみてきました。

その美術展は「怖い絵展」というタイトルで、中野京子氏のベストセラー「怖い絵」シリーズに出てくる絵を展示してます。

とても面白い美術展でした。私のようにアートに詳しくなくても、絵それぞれに歴史やストリーの説明がされているので

楽しめます。とても人気がある美術展で、約２時間も並び、中に入っても非常に混んでいました。

この美術展が開かれたミュージアムのとなりが上野動物園だったので立ち寄りました。パンダの赤ちゃんはまだ

一般公開されていませんでした。お母さんパンダは恥ずかしがり屋で隠れていていました。

上の動物園にはマダガスカルから来た動物がたくさんいて、その中には私のしらないアイアイというめずらしいさる（写真）もいました。

新しい発見と学びのある一日でした。
