キャンプ料理

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? It’s Golden Week next week. I hope you all do something fun and get some time off. A reminder to my Friday students. I will be absent from class on Friday so there are no conversation classes for my students. Grammar classes are still on. I apologise for the inconvenience.

こんにちは　みなさん、

いかがお過ごしですか。来週はゴールデンウイークです。みなさん、楽しい事がある、素敵な休暇になると良いですね。私、ケビンの金曜日の生徒たちに連絡です。４月28日金曜日は、私がお休みのため、英会話のクラスは休みとなります。文法クラスは授業がありますので、ご注意ください。ご不便をおかけしますが、よろしくお願いします。

The camp is coming up just after Golden Week. We are making final preparations now and it’s very exciting. Last Friday, I went to the camp centre, Asagiri Outdoor Activity Centre, along with Alan and Taka to attend a training course. I took the camp cooking course. It was lots of fun and very useful. We made curry and learnt some tips for saving time and organisation as well as about safety and risk management.

ゴールデンウイークが明けるとすぐにキャンプです。私たちは最終準備段階に入っています。とてもわくわくしています。先週の金曜日には、アラン、タカとキャンプ地の朝霧野外活動センターに行ってトレーニング講習を受けてきました。私はキャンプ料理のコースを受講。とても面白くてためになる講習でした。カレーを作り、安全性やリスクマネジメント、それに時間節約やチーム作りのコツなども学んできました。

The previous English camps we have done have all been successful and gotten good feedback from students and parents. The most difficult part for us is the cooking, because none of us are trained cooks and it’s out of our expertise. In past camps, the cooking has sometimes run over time and this year I’m hoping to make the ccooking more organised. I hope we can use English as we cook. We have printed the recipes in the instruction booklet so the students have a good idea of what they are making beforehand. We are handing them out this week so if you’re going, please read it.

前回のHARIOイングリッシュ・キャンプは大成功で、生徒やご家族のみなさんに良い報告ができました。一番難しかった部分は料理でした。誰も訓練を受けたわけでもなく、専門外だったからです。過去のキャンプでは料理に時間が掛かりすぎてしまったこともありました。今年は、もっと手際よくできるといいなと思います。料理中も英語を使えるといいですね。キャンプの手引きに料理のレシピを載せましたので、生徒たちは前もってどんなものを作るか良いアイデアを考えることができます。参加者には今週、その手引きを配布しています。目を通しておいてください。
