Hello everyone,

There’s only three days to go until the Hario Speech contest 2016! It’s the biggest event of the year for us, so I’m very excited. I can’t wait to see the students put on a great show for everyone. This year the quality of the speeches is very high. We have put a lot of effort into getting the best out of our students. Their motivation is high too. Our veteran students have really enjoyed themselves at previous contests, so they put a lot work into their performance and I’m really proud of them. The first-timers have done really well too. They don’t know what to expect at the contest, so might be nervous about their first time on stage. Everyone feels nervous before a big event. But you should keep in mind that the most nerve- wracking time is when you are waiting to start. Once you actually get on stage and start speaking, the nerves quickly disappear and you can start to relax. Our 10th rank activity is coming along well. We had a rehearsal here last Saturday. The students have a great song and dance routine, and I hope they sing nice and loud for the audience. Can you guess what songs we’re going to sing this time? We have special guest judges from around the world to score the speeches and enjoy the show. So come along everyone, and see what a fantastic show we have in store! This is our 4th contest so far, and it promises to be the best yet. I hope to see you there.

みなさんこんにちは。

HARIOイングリッシュスクールスピーチコンテスト2016まであと3日となりました。

スピーチコンテストは私達にとって大イベントの1つであるので、とてもわくわくしています。そして皆さんが素晴らしいスピーチを披露してくれるのが待ちきれません。今年のスピーチのレベルはとても高いと思います。私達も皆さんが最大限の力を出してもらえるよう努力しました。また、皆さんのモチベーションも高いと思います。上級クラスの生徒さんは過去にコンテストを経験し、楽しんでいましたので、今回もたくさんの努力をしているようです。そんな彼等を誇りに思います。

今回初めて参加される生徒さんも、すごくよく出来ています。初めてなので、どんなものかわからず、緊張するかもしれません。誰もが大きなイベントの前では緊張するとは思いますが、これだけは覚えておいてください。1番緊張する瞬間というのは、まさにスピーチの順番を待っている時なんです。しかし、1度ステージの上に上がって話し出してしまえば、緊張はすぐに消え、リラックスできると思います。

またPLS１０級＆９級、幼児クラスの発表タイムもあります。先週の土曜日はHARIOでそのリハーサルもありましたね。お客さんの前で、大きな声でしっかりと歌うことができるといいですね。皆さんは今年はどんな曲が課題曲になっているか知っていますか？また審査員も国籍豊かで、皆さんのスピーチを審査してくれます。なので皆さん、一緒に会場でこの素晴らしい会をご覧になってください。HARIOになってからは、４回目のスピーチコンテストですが、これまでで一番のコンテストとなることでしょう。
