Setsubun－ Bean Throwing Day 　節分

Hello everyone,

How are things with you at the moment? The Hario English School Spring Campaign has started and we have already seen many new trial students. It’s always nice to meet new people and share with them our passion for learning English. Yesterday, the 3rd of February, was Setsubun, which is sometimes translated as Bean Throwing Day. On this day, we drive away evil spirits by scattering or throwing beans (usually roasted soybeans) at any passing <em>Oni</em> or devil. People shout, ‘鬼は外! 福は内! Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!’, or ‘Devils out! Good luck in!’ as they chase away the devil. A devil showed up at Hario yesterday, but luckily our intrepid students chased him away. Good job, everyone!

昨日は2月3日ということで、節分の日でした。英語では”Bean Throwing Day”（豆まきの日）と訳されます。なので昨日は豆という名のボール（本当は炒った豆です）をまき、邪気を払いました。鬼を追いかけながら”鬼は外、福は内”と叫びます。昨日はHARIOに鬼が出てきました！しかし、幸運にも、勇敢な生徒さんが鬼を追い払ってくれました。皆さんありがとう
