Hello everyone,

How are you all? It’s really hot here in Fuji. Please drink lots of fluids and take care in this heat. Next week the school is closed while we have the Obon holidays. I hope you all relax and have a nice time with your families.

The speech contest date has been decided as Saturday November 22nd. It’s a long way off but we’re already starting to plan for it. That way, we shouldn’t have a big rush in the final week. We’re choosing songs for the younger students (kindergarten classes and new 10th rank classes) to perform. This year there are a mega 46 children in that group. It’s the biggest I can remember. We’re thinking about ways of having that number of students on a stage and give everyone time at the front. It’s an interesting problem but a good problem to have. Anyway, we’ve chosen some fun songs to sing and I hope it will be a good show and a fun experience for the students who will perform.

さて、スピーチコンテストの日程が、11月22日（土）に決定しましたまだまだ先ですが、もう準備は始まっています。今週は幼稚園とPLS10級の生徒さんたちが披露する曲を決めました。今年は46人の生徒さんたちがこれの対象になります。私が覚えている中で最も多い人数だと思います。これだけ多くの生徒さんたちがステージに立つので、みんなが前に立って歌うにはどうしたらいいのか考えています。考えるのがおもしろい問題です。すでにいくつかの楽しい曲が決定しています。良い舞台になること、生徒たちにとって良い経験となることを願っています。
