Hello everyone,

 

It’s April, and that means lots of birthday celebrations for the people I know. Myself, my wife, my mother, and many of my friends all have birthdays this month. Last week we had two birthdays here at Hario English School. Last Friday was Sachiyo’s birthday and on Monday I turned 33. There are some photo’s of the days on previous blogs or you can find them on our Facebook page. I’d like to thank all of the staff here for the great presents, cards and cake. I can’t wait to go out and about in my new summer hat! It feels strange to say I’m 33 years old because sometimes I feel the same as back when I was 25. I’m sure a lot more has changed about me than I realise. We forget how time flies when we look back through the years. I was watching one of my favorite movies “The Matrix” last week and I was shocked to learn that it’s 15 years old now! It still feels like a relatively new movie.
April also means that Easter is coming. On April 20th we have a tradition of gorging on huge chocolate eggs. My mother said she sent me some in a box from Ireland, so I’m eagerly waiting on them. I have a sweet tooth so this is one of my favorite times of the year. In Ireland the Friday before Easter is a holiday called “Good Friday “, and it’s the only day of the year where it is illegal to buy or sell alcohol. So all of Ireland’s famous bars must close on that day. It’s a strange law that has been around for hundreds of years and some people in Ireland complain about how they can’t buy a drink for one whole day!

みなさん、こんにちは。

４月は友達・知人の誕生日が一番多い月です。私自身も４月生まれですが、私の妻、私の母、

私の沢山の友人達。先週は、HARIOイングリッシュスクール で２つの誕生日がありました。

先週の誕生日はさちよの誕生日。今週の月曜日は、私の３３回目の誕生日でした。

誕生日については、ブログにポストされています。またフェイスブック からも写真をみることができます。

スタッフのみなさん、ステキなプレゼントやケーキをありがとうございました。

これから、夏用の帽子をかぶってでかけるのが楽しみです。

自分が３３歳になったのが信じられません。まだ２５歳のときと気持ちが同じです。

年をとるにつれ、これから色んな変化が訪れるのだと思います。時がたつのは本当に速いです。

先週、マトリックスを見ましたが、その映画が初めて世にでたのは１５年前です。信じられません。

また新しい映画のような気がしていました。

 

また４月はイースターの月でもあります。４月２０日は、イースターをチョコレートエッグで祝います。

私の母から、アイルランドから箱でイースターチョコを送ったと連絡がありました。到着するのが楽しみです。私は甘いものがすきなので、１年でこの時期がすきな時でもあります。

アイルランドでは、イースターの前の金曜日が「グッドフライデー」という祝日です。１年でこの日だけがお酒を売り買いすることが禁止されています。なので、この日は、バーはやっていません。

なぜなのかはわかりませんが、この伝統が何百年も続いています。中には、このアルコール禁止に文句をいっている人もいます。
