Did you see any snow yesterday? I was beginning to think it wouldn`t get cold this February, but the temperature dropped drastically yesterday. It went from an unusually mild morning to a freezing cold afternoon, and a little snow was seen falling here in Fuji yesterday evening.

This week at Hario we have welcomed new students who have decided to join. It`s great to work with young beginners, they pick up the basics fast, and enjoy themselves at the same time. The new students always seem happy after their first lessons here. Once they realize that they can have fun while learning, they are more enthusiastic about coming here.

Last weekend the Fuji International Fair took place at the Fuji-san Messe. It was a bit of a washout outside in the food area due to the rain, but it was still great fun and there was a good turn out there. It was nice to see how multi-cultural Fuji city has become, with many different countries putting up stands at the Fair. Each stand had samples of food, souvenirs and other things from their country. There was traditional French citron to try, and at the Australian stand you could paint your own boomerang. There was traditional Japanese dancing on stage throughout the day. The food was fantastic too, I got to try Russian soup for the first time, along with Spanish steak. In all it`s a great day out, much recommended.

みなさん、こんにちは。

昨日、雪が降りましたね。見ましたか？

２月はもう寒くはならないんだろうななんて思っていましたが、昨日は急に気温が下がりました。

昨日は穏やかな朝から始まって、凍るような寒さの午後になり、最後には、ここ富士でも雪がふりました。

 

今週からHARIOイングリッシュスクール では入会キャンペーンがスタートし、体験授業を受講する生徒さんがたくさんいます。英語の初心者の子供達を教えるのは、面白いです。

彼らは素早く吸収して、同時に英語を学ぶことを楽しんでいます。最初のレッスンを終えると、生徒の皆さんはとても楽しそうです。学ぶことがたのしいとわかると、彼らはより学校にくるのが楽しみになります。

 

先週末は、富士市で「国際交流フェア」が富士山メッセーで開かれました。

雨が降ってきたため、外にあった食べ物のブースはすぐに店じまいになってしまいましたが、

それでもとてもよいイベントでした。イベントには、いろんな国のブースがあり、富士市がどれだけ

異文化な町なのかを実感しました。

それぞれのブースには、食べ物やお土産などのサンプルがありました。

フランスの昔から伝わるシトロンや、オーストラリアのブースでは、ブーメランのペイントコーナーがありました。舞台では、日本舞踊が披露されました。

私はロシアのスープを初めてスープ味わいました。スペインのステーキも味わいました。

とてもよい１日になりました。「国際交流フェア」はやはり、私のおすすめです。
