Hello everyone,

What happened to the weather this week? In mid-June it’s usually overcast with clouds because it’s the middle of rainy season. Since Monday, however, it’s been sunny and extremely hot. It feels like the middle of August at the moment. I guess summer is giving us an early glimpse of what’s to come in the following months. I wonder if the rainy season will return at all?

Did you visit the Yoshiwara Gion Festival last weekend? The rain finally let up on Sunday, so I took the chance to go down and visit my first festival of the year. There are always certain foods at the festivals such as choco-bananas, shaved ice and so on. I got a potato that’s cut into a spiral and fried. Delicious! I saw some of our students there too. Many of them live in Yoshiwara, so they took part in the dashi floats.

Here at Hario, our parent’s days kick off this week. From this week, and all through July, our students’ parents have the chance to come in and see the classes for themselves. It’s a great chance to see the progress their kids are making. I’m sure they’ll be impressed by what their children are capable of. They master the skills of English little by little every week, which is a big jump up over the course of a few months. So, come on over to us and watch your kid in action in our classes. We appreciate the support and feedback from parents, so I’m always happy to welcome them into the classroom.

今週の天気はどうしてしまったのでしょうか6月中旬といえば、通常は梅雨の真っ只中で曇り空が続く時期です。しかし今週の月曜日から、晴天と猛暑が続いており、まるで8月の真夏のような気候です。今年の夏は、早めにその姿を見せ始めたのかもしれませんね。梅雨は戻ってくるのでしょうか

先週末、吉原祇園祭に行かれましたか日曜日には雨がやっと止んだので、今年最初の祭りを訪れる良い機会だと思い出かけてみました。祭りの定番の食べ物、例えばチョコバナナやかき氷などはやはり外せませんね私は渦巻き状にカットされて揚げられたポテトを食べました。美味しかったですよまた、何人かの生徒とも会いました。吉原に住んでいる生徒さんが多いので、山車にも参加していたようです。

ここHarioでは、今週から授業参観が始まります今週から7月にかけて、当校の生徒さんの保護者の方々が授業を見学できる機会があります。お子様の英語力の進歩を目の当たりにする素晴らしい機会です。保護者の皆様も、子どもたちの能力に感心されることでしょう。生徒たちは毎週少しずつ英語のスキルを身につけていき、数か月の間で大きな成長を遂げます。ぜひお子様が授業で頑張る様子をご覧になりにいらしてください保護者の方々からのご意見や応援を感謝しておりますので、教室へのご訪問はいつでも歓迎しています。
