Hey, so last weekend I stayed at home. I watched a few movies, cleaned my house, played video games, spoke to my parents and I also had a very long meeting with a moving company. After looking online for a moving company I finally found one that I thought was good. So last week on sunday, the moving company sent one of their staff members to my house to give me a quote. I thought that this was going to be a short visit, but I was completely wrong. The guy ended up staying at my house for nearly three hours, trying to negotiate with me. This is my first time using a moving company in Japan, so I was unsure whether or not I was getting a good deal or if what he was saying was good or not. So after a very long meeting and some time to think I decided not to go with that company. In the end I went with a company that were cheaper and a little less hands on.

In the UK it is rare to find a moving company that will do everything for you. Normally when we move in the UK, we do everything ourselves. However I heard that in Japan, it is the opposite. Most people who move house in Japan, prefer to get a company to do everything. I can understand why this is a good idea, but I think I prefer to do it myself.

そして、引越し業者との長ーい打ち合わせをしたり。

私はネットで引っ越し業者を探していましたが、ある一つの会社がいいと思い連絡を取りました。

先週の日曜日に、引越し会社が見積もりを作るために一人のスタッフを送ってきました。その滞在はすぐ終わるのかと思っていましたが、違いました。そのスタッフは３時間ほどいて、私と交渉をし始めました。初めてのことだったので、それが普通なのかどうなのかわかりません。長い打ち合わせの後、私はその引っ越し会社を利用しないことにしました。結局、その会社より少し安い違う引っ越し会社にしまいた。
